On August 24th, I shared this card that my Stampers With Art team had as one of the make-n-takes during our August online team event.
Shortly after that event, I needed a card for a swap group. I decided to use the above card, but forgot to replenish my cardstock and other supplies in time. So without any time to reorder or change my card idea, I had to make due with what I had on hand. And I ended up with this. 🙁
I was bummed because the card WASN'T my best work at all. It was lacking, but I didn't have time or supplies to fix it. After swapping, I put my sample away for a few weeks…
…and a few more weeks…
I finally pulled it out the other day and added a couple more cardstock layers behind the blue. And…
…Wow! I was happy with it. It's amazing the difference an embellishment or a layer or two can make. And sometimes crafters just have to walk away from projects that frustrate them and come back later (when the time is right) to try again.
I still like my original, darker version better. But at least I'm happy with this card now. To those of you who I swapped with, sorry. Now you know what I really wanted to give you. LOL
