Welcome to our All Star monthly blog hop for the Mediterranean Blooms Suite! We are excited to share even MORE ideas than what we are offering in our exclusive Video Class Bundle this month. I’ve created this “all the love” card using the Citrus Blooms Stamps and Dies, the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (which coordinates really well with the tile images in the paper from this suite), heat embossing for the sentiments, a Blending Brush for a touch of color on the dry embossed tile layer, and Garden Green embellishments and leaves.
You’ll want to emboss the front white layer first to give it texture, and then use a Blending Brush to apply just a little Pool Party ink in the lower right section. Then using VersaMark ink, stamp the outside sentiment onto a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock and the inside sentiment onto another scrap of Basic Black Cardstock. Add white Basics Wow! Embossing Powder and heat to set. Then punch out the sentiments, die-cut the leaves, and assemble the card.

The front sentiment circle is connected directly the the largest set of leaves and added with Dimensionals. The two other large branches of leaves are adhered directly to the embossed layer. Remember to add the Blooming Pearls along the right edge too.
Here is what the inside looks like. I just LOVE white sentiments on black backgrounds. The contrast is stunning!

I want to thank fellow demonstrator Kevin Theesen from Kreations by Kevin for the inspiration for 2 of today’s cards. I was a guest presenter for an event he had earlier this summer. There were lots of inspiring demonstrations, but his fun Full of Life “doodle” cards stuck with me and I couldn’t wait to try this idea. Thanks Kevin!
This first one is very similar to the look he added to his cards. He drew on squiggly line doodles to accent the decorative designs of the paper. Ta da! Isn’t it fun?! I used a thin Sharpie marker. But you could use any fine tip marker really. Doodle first on scrap paper to make sure you like the thickness of the black marker or pen you will be using.

This second one shows where my mind went after seeing what Kevin did on his cards. Drawing zentangle-like designs within the confines of the colorful sections takes a bit of time though. So if you get more artsy and detailed like this, just know that it’s not a quick way to alter the paper. On my first card I used the 2″ Circle Punch and a die from the Stylish Shapes Dies for my sentiment area. On this card I used a die from the Friends for Life Dies in this suite for the sentiment area. The punched 1-3/4″ circle on the middle right side is from another matching sheet. Also…notice the Iridescent Faceted Gems? I have one in the middle of the raised circle on this Miss You card. And I have five on my first card.

All of the designer papers I used on these cards were partials and pieces left over from other cards I had already created. So for this last card, I had a thin strip and a wider strip with the same squares pattern. So I trimmed them to be the same width, added one at the top of the Basic Black cardstock layer and one on the bottom, added the 5/8″ tall white strip in between, glued on my layered die-cut “friend”, and stamped the “love you” to the left on the white strip. I added three Iridescent Faceted Gems to finish off the design: two in the o’s of the stamped words and one small one to dot the i in friend.
I just love how colorful and cheerful these cards are!

I knew I wouldn’t have time to share them all. In fact, mentioned in the video for my live class that the leaves die was one of my favorites (about 2 minutes in) and I was thinking of this third card and how bummed I was that I wouldn’t have time to also share during the class. 😉 So today I’m showing you that one. I love it, and I hope you do too.

Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2” (then trimmed up – see directions)
Scraps for die-cutting three sets of leaves
Full of Life Designer Paper
2” x 5-1/2”
Basic Black Cardstock
1-3/8” x 4”
Scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
Iridescent Striped Ribbon

Directions
Cut away two sections from the front of the card base piece…cut in on the score line 1/4″ from the left and 1-3/4″ from the right. Then make two cuts from the bottom up to the ends of the cuts on the middle score line to remove the 1/4″ x 5-1/2″ section from the left front and the 1-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ section from the right front.
Open the card base. Mask a 2″ x 5-1/2″ section right under where the front flap folds down. Then mask off the complete underside of the front flap. (These masked areas will remain white. And the 2″ x 5-1/2″ section will be where you can what you want to write on the inside..) Use Blending Brushes to put a faint amount of color to the left and right (following the colors of the designer paper) as shown.
Add the designer paper to the front of the flap. Add the die-cut leaves (sponge glue on the back, but keep the glue away from leaves that will extend beyond the flap.)
Use Tear & Tape to add a couple strips of ribbon.
With Dimensionals add the Basic Black piece that has been stamped and embossed with the “Thinking of you” sentiment.
Then embellish with Iridescent Faceted Gems.
It’s such a pretty card! I had a hard time choosing between this one or the hearts one for my class. But I decided that this one was easier to explain with just words.

When designing my project for the blog hop, I was playing around with the Friends for Life Dies (the die set in this suite) and discovered that one of the heart dies makes a great “window.” So I used that to make a fun “peek-a-boo background” for my card. After making this first card, I made a second with the scraps. Why not, right?!
