Here are two cards that show off the beauty of the Ombré Designer Paper (one of the free Sale-a-Bration picks with a $50+ order). I paired it with die-cut images in black and sentiments from the Borders Abound Stamp Set.
I’m not sure who shared using this paper with the Starburst technique first because I’ve seen a few samples out there on the internet already. But I fell in love, and I HAD to create a couple myself and share this fun idea with all of you. (The Starburst technique is a fun one. I shared it on my blog several years back on September 14, 2013, October 7, 2013, and November 16, 2013 then again more recently on July 24, 2019.)

Basic White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
5/8″ x 3-1/4″
Basic Black Cardstock
2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
3/4″ x 3-1/4″
Oh So Ombré Designer Paper
Seven 1-1/2″ x 6″ pieces cut so the light is at one end and dark is at the other
Measurements for Love for You Card
Basic White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
Scrap for stamping and punching 1-1/2″ Circle
Basic Black Cardstock
Scrap for die-cutting fern
Oh So Ombré Designer Paper
Seven 1-1/2″ x 6″ pieces cut so the light is at one end and dark is at the other
Directions
Cur all the designer paper diagonally as shown.
Cover front of white cardstock with adhesive.
Add triangle designer paper strips with point starting about 1-1/2″ from bottom left corner. Add the far right strip first as shown so the edge meets with the bottom edge of the card.
Add strips adjacent to each other alternating the strips so that every other are light to dark and the ones in-between are dark to light.
This should be the end result when 13 strips have been added.
Flip the card base over and trim the excess designer paper.
Die-cut and add fern. Add stamped sentiment circle (using Dimensionals). And embellish with sequins.
For the palm tree card punch the strips, stamp, layer together and add to the front upper right corner.
Add adhesive sheets to the back of the 5/8″ x 3-1/4″ black cardstock, die-cut with the palm tree die, and attach all the pieces to the card front. (The Take Your Pick Tool helped me out with this task.)
Embellish with sequins.
Dustin Phillips, a demonstrator in my group recently shared some of his fun creations that he put together with this beautiful Oh So Ombré paper and the Pretty Perennials Bundle (the Pretty Perennials Stamp Set and coordinating Perennial Petals Dies). So I thought I’d share them with you here today. He is our February 2021 Showcase Stamper. The other projects he made will be shared in early March. Stay tuned!

A masculine one with diagonal strips of designer paper.
A Card Folio the size of a regular A2 card (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded). This is the front cover.
This is the inside with three pockets and a five-layer “waterfall.” There is plenty of room for photos of an event or specific person. Too fun!

MINI STAMPIN’ CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE UPDATE If you recall the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machines on pages 170-172 in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog weren’t quite ready with the launch of this publication in June. The larger one debuted on September 1st, but there were further COVID-19-related delays with the mini machine. Well…good news! The mini machine is available to demonstrators right now. And on January 5th it will be available to everyone! So keep that in mind when planning your wish lists and purchases.
