Welcome to our All Star Tutorial group blog hop! Did you get your hands on this month’s set of tutorials featuring the Best Dressed Suite?! These tutorials are designed by twelve Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. They are exclusive to those who earn them or purchase them. And they are complete with photos, directions, supply lists and measurements in both imperial and metric.
Here are peeks of the fantastic projects in our May bundle!
(Below you will find information for how to get your hands on this month’s compilation.)
Here is a larger peek of the project tutorial I contributed.
Our hop today will give you MORE ideas than what we are offering in our bundle. See what I have to share. My project that I’m sharing today is a vertical easel-style sticky note pad & pen holder.
I actually have two versions of it!
I made these back in February with my mom and my friend/teammate Cheryl Lee during the Silver Elite Retreat.
You may have seen this idea here on my blog already, because I shared how to make this holder with the Poppy Parade Designer Paper and Music From the Heart Stamp Set back in mid-February. And then I created and shared another version on March 9th with the Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin kit.
Would you like to make one of these?
Refer back to the February post and watch the video for tips and tricks for cutting and making the holder portion of the project. Then read below for the measurements and tips pertaining to these versions using the Best Dressed products.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
- Basic Black Cardstock (follow the video and see photos below to help with the cutting of this base cardstock)
- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to short end at 2-1/4” and 2-3/4” and scored parallel to long end on each side at 3/8″ and 7/8″
- 7/8″ x 4-1/4″ scored parallel to short end at 1/2″ and 1″
- 3-3/4″ x 8-1/4″ scored parallel to short end at 1/2″, 1-1/2″ and 2-1/2″
- Whisper White Cardstock
- 3-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
- Best Dressed Designer Paper
- 3-1/2″ x 4″
- 3-1/2″ x 2″
- Scrap for stamping and fussy cutting shoes
Tips for these specific holders…
- Stamp the shoe that appears closest to the front close to the left onto the Whisper White Cardstock strip. Stamp shoe image onto the sticky portion of a sticky note, cut it out and use it as a mask the first shoe…stick the sticky note shoe (the mask) on top of the one on the white cardstock, then stamp another shoe just to the right on the white cardstock. Pull the sticky note shoe (the mask) away. The shoe you just stamped should now look like it’s behind the first one.
- Color the shoes with Blends Markers and add more designer to the main section. Stamp the shoe image twice onto a scrap piece of designer paper. Cut out the area/s you want. Adhere to the shoes on the Whisper White Cardstock.
It’s a little bit of work, but it gives such a fun look.
And then you’ll have a fun gift to give that girlfriend who is into fashionable footwear!
