Okay, I came up with MORE alternate project ideas using the December 2018 Day by Day Paper Pumpkin kit!!! Hahaha! And I decided the best way to show them to you was in a video. So I demonstrated them in a live broadcast yesterday on Facebook.
Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the measurements and full products list below, scroll through the close-up photos of the projects I presented that day, and then let me know if you have any questions.
Here are close-up photos and the measurements you’ll need if you plan to recreate any of these projects.
THE FESTIVE CARD
Measurements for card…
Night of Navy Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4”
Whisper White Cardstock
4-3/4” x 3-1/2” for card
Three strands of Organdy Sale-A-Bration Ribbon
(Cut the sticker sheet from the kit down to 4-7/8″ tall.)
THE RESOLUTION TRACKER
Measurements for page…
Pool Party Cardstock
3” x 4”
Night of Navy Cardstock
3” x 4”
6” x 4”
Scrap for punching 1-1/4” circle
Whisper White Cardstock
Full Sheet for printer
2-3/4” x 2-5/8”
Gold Foil Sheets
Scrap for punching 1-1/8” Scallop Circle
Ribbon from kit
(Cut the calendar from kit to 4″ tall. Then cut what is left over to just under 3″ wide.)
I didn’t demonstrate this one in the video, but hopefully these written measurements and directions will help.
Measurements for box…
Basic Black Cardstock
5-1/2” x 3-3/8″ (outer lid)
5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (inner lid)
5-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ (inside box base)
Ribbon from kit
Open up box base. Put Tear & Tape Adhesive where shown.
The longest flap (the one that covered the bottom of the box) will become the cover. Mark using a pencil and ruler just beyond 4-1/2″ from the second score line. Then use Trimmer to score along that mark AND to trim off the tiny tabs.
Assemble box again without putting the longest flap back in.
Attach the Basic Black Cardstock pieces using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Then to reinforce the lid even more and keep it from bending at that third score line, add Tear & Tape to the back of the coordinating “calendar topper” cardboard piece from the kit.
Wrap the ribbon around the box lid, bring the ends through the holes of this cardboard piece, and tighten the ribbon as you center & secure the piece in place.
Tie a bow in the ribbon, and trim the ends.
Fold the cover at the score line you created and add velcro dots to hold it shut.

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a few days. We are in the midst of a huge garage sale. And I have 20+ crafters that contributed to the sale. We’ve sold a lot, but it is time consuming to say the least. And in the evening after the sale is closed down for the day, we have to make sure all the earnings for each crafter total up and equal the money in the till.
It’s a 24/7 event during the days of the event and it takes hours of prep in the days leading up, but it’s so fun to see everyone benefit: shoppers get great deals and sellers can purge items they won’t be using anymore. It’s quite fun!
With my busy first half of June (the product shares and this sale), I had very little time to put together birthday cards for my team members with June birthdays. So I got smart and took out my Delightfully Detailed Memories & More Card Pack and my Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. Then I designed and put together two of each of these cards – 10 cards in just a few short hours.
Supplies I used: (See below for a full list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.)
Here are a few close up photos of each of them.
With this first one I used a 4″ x 6″ M&M card (the black with the speckles) and a 3″ x 4″ M&M card (the white with the watercolor wash along the edges) for the background layers. Then I added a scallop circle sticker and a label sticker that I stamped, trimmed and embellished with ribbon and a rhinestone.
This second card has a 4″ x 6″ M&M card on the base (tied with some pretty copper-edged Coastal Cabana Tea Room Ribbon) that says “colllect moments not things” in white script lettering. I covered most of the lettering so that only a little bit peeked out and looked like a white looping design. Before adding the “Let’s Celebrate Today” 4″ x 3″ M&M card on top, I added loops of Copper Thread peeking out along the right edge AND a couple strips from another 3″ x 4″ M&M card to the top and bottom of this sentiment card.
This was the easiest card to put together. I made it with two 4″ x 6″ M&M cards from the pack. I trimmed a one-inch section off the top and bottom of the one with the “happy birthday” sentiment and added ruffled ribbon underneath before adhering it to the card with Dimensionals. A rhinestone accents the letter i.
Oh! The scraps didn’t go to waste. I used those 1″ x 6″ black strips for the last card.
This fourth card was put together with just two 4″ x 3″ M&M cards layered on top of each other, a sticker from the pack up on Dimensionals and some rhinestones. To attach the black laser-cut card to the Blackberry Bliss watercolor washed card, sponge on some Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back side of the laser-cut card, stick it onto the slightly larger watercolor wash card, and trim the excess.
I added the two 1″ x 6″ black strips (scraps from the 3rd card) to the floral patterned 4″ x 6″ M&M card for this last card design. I then covered up the seam by wrapping and tying the card with the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Finally I added a stamped sticker for the sentiment and embellished it with a simple, single rhinestone.
I really love how easy it was to put together fast and easy birthday cards with the Memories & More card packs and card/envelope packs. CLICK HERE to see the new 2018-19 M&M card pack selections currently in my online store.

It’s just so much fun being a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator!!
What a fantastic weekend it was at the April 2018 OnStage event. I attended the one located in Hartford, Connecticut. And it was glorious! There is so much to tell you that I can’t possibly put it all into one post. But as of 1:00 PM Mountain Time the new products we received and saw, the news on the changing colors and updated ink pads, the photos of the displays and the demonstrations, the gifts we got, and the image of the catalog (cover only at this time) can now officially be shared!
CLICK HERE for more detailed information, to access the lists and links, for dates about transitioning into the new catalog, AND to find out how you can get your hands on the new 2018-19 Annual Catalog. Be sure to take a good look at the retiring products list so that you don’t miss out on getting items that you have wanted. Some things sell out quickly!
Here is a photo of me with those in my team who attended in Hartford (Lynda Patsolas, Mary Spelbrink, Pam Vogrin and Pauline Poindexter) with the new 2018-19 Catalog! We are excited. Can you tell!? And isn’t this catalog cover a fun one?
It’s a colorful and vibrant cover, because the biggest change this coming year is the Color Revamp! Five years ago Stampin’ Up! did a Color Refresh. But this is even bigger because not only are there some fun color changes within the families (new colors and returning colors), but the families have changed a bit to add 3 more colors…
AND the ink pads and ink quality have been updated. (I’ll share more about all this in my color comparison post tomorrow.)
Here are photos from a few of the demonstrations from OnStage showing some of the new stuff! (I’m sharing LOTS of photos, so I can’t name all the new products used. But hopefully you’ll enjoy the photos anyway. I tried to show a variety.)
Most product demonstrations and presentations were live at each OnStage location, but some were pre-recorded. We didn’t have cofounder, Shelli Gardner or her daughter, Sara Douglass, the CEO of Stampin’ Up! at our location, but we were able to watch them demonstrate together during one of the recorded videos.
And as always, they were a hoot to watch and kept us in stitches.
Here are some of the projects they shared.
These photos are of the display boards showing many of the new products.
Yay! The new 2018-20 In Colors! – Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel.
The Stampin’ Blends line is expanding as well! Lots of new colors to pick from!!
These last three photos are of the many gifts and prizes I received this time. They really spoil us!
Want to be one of the first to see and get your hands on new products? The new catalog is online on the demo side as of today! Become a Stampers With ART Star! Join my community, have fun and reap the rewards of being a demonstrator. Click here to learn more.
Tune in tomorrow for more details on the Color Revamp. And remember to glance over the retiring products to see if there is anything you need to get before it’s gone for good.

Of course, my mind always goes elsewhere when I get a PP kit in my hands. So I have produced and am ready to share several of my alternate, “outside the box” ideas with you.
I’m sharing my first set of projects today.
And then later this week, I’ll share my second set.
But I didn’t stop there, because I’m still creating and will also share several more early next week that combine supplies from both the October Pining for Plaid and this month’s Back in Plaid kits. (Stampin’ Up! will ALSO be sharing project ideas combining elements from both kits on November 21st in a Facebook Live broadcast at 6 PM Mountain Time.)

Product List… (things you might need/want in addition to the November 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit to make any or all of the projects in the video – not all of these items are necessary, but were mentioned)
Online Extravaganza! Get Ready… It Begins tomorrow – November 20th
Are you ready for amazing deals? Online Extravaganza begins Monday, November 20. And this year there are some great surprises in store for you! Want a peek?! CLICK HERE to download the deals Stampin’ Up! has added so far.
Yesterday I shared that I created more alternate projects with the contents of the October 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. So today I am sharing the second one of those three. This is a photo pocket page. Scrapbooking/memory keeping with pocket pages is quick and easy. Because you are only adding decorative elements to “card-size” areas of the page, it’s not overwhelming. AND to make it even less overwhelming, Stampin’ Up! has pre-designed elements for you in our Memories & More kits. (I completed my whole wedding album in no time using this system. I recommend this method if you are wanted to start scrapbook, but are hesitant.)
This one below was super simple to assemble, because I didn’t stray too far from the Paper Pumpkin kit project design.
Here are the directions & measurements if you wish to recreate this.
Cut one of the card bases from the kit to 4″ x 6″. (Ignore the score line since this will mostly get covered.)
Cut a 1/4″ wide strip and a 1/2″ wide strip from the leftovers.
Cut the 1/2″ wide strip so it looks similar to the gold banner in the kit.
Stamp the “Happiest Of Holidays To You” sentiment image in Basic Black ink onto a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ white snowflake printed piece from the kit. Stamp some extra snowflake images in Pool Party ink. Attach the gold banner underneath covering up the “to you” and then attach the plaid banner on top of that but bit further down so the gold still shows.
Attach the branch/ornament window layer from the kit using a foam adhesive circle from the kit being careful to keep the words straight.
Then attach this entire piece to the 4″ x 6″ plaid layer to complete the upper left page element.
Cut two 3″ x 4″ pieces from the Merry Little Christmas designer paper.
Stamp Pool Party snowflake in the center “perforated” area of an ornament piece from the kit.
Attach the narrow 1/4″ strips above and below using the perforated lines as guides.
Add foam adhesive to the back with some of this adhesive sticking out just a bit at the top.
Cut a 3/4″ wide strip from the gold scraps in the kit. And add this to the top of the ornament above the gold printed part to make it appear to be an extension of the ornament cap.
Attach the ornament to one of the 3″ x 4″ pieces from the Merry Little Christmas designer paper.
Insert these page elements into 3 of the pockets and insert photos into the remaining pockets. (The Pear Pizzazz cardstock in these other pockets represent photos, but I added this cardstock to the supply list below so you could find it in my online store if you wanted.)
In case you don’t know, I design a photo pocket page layout with each and every Paper Pumpkin kit. So if you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, use the elements in your kits to build some fantastic albums.

Yesterday I shared a blue & white card that incorporated using pieces from the Color Theory Memories & More Card Pack. When one hears the words “Memories & More” they more than likely think of scrapbooking first. But that is why Stampin’ Up! added the word “more” on the end. The supplies in these card packs are meant to be used for all kinds of paper crafting projects and work super well for card layers and embellishments. Here is a glance at the four Memories & More Card Packs we have in our 2017-18 Annual Catalog.
(There is also a 5th M&M Card Pack not pictured above in the 2017 Holiday catalog.) These packs include double-sided printed cards. But you’ll also find stickers, printed acetate overlays, and even have die-cut embellishments in these packs.
The base cardstock piece for each card is 11″ x 4-1/4″ folded in half at 5-1/2″. On three of the cards I stamped images from the Colorful Seasons stamp set using VersaMark ink. VersaMark is a clear ink that when stamped onto colored cardstock takes on and deepens the color. It gives the appearance that the cardstock was stamped with coordinating ink.
After stamping the base cardstock pieces, I layered on one or two cards from the pack and added some Glitter Enamel Dots. (On the white one, I used stickers from the pack to add the sentiment.)
AND…During the entire month of October, select packs of Designer Paper are part of a Buy 3, Get 1 Free special! Click here for that flyer. (Oh! The stamp sets that are 15% off on the World Card-Making Day flyer coordinate with paper packs that are part of this Buy 3, Get 1 Free special. How cool is that?!)
