Here are two more variations of the Double Pocket cards I shared on Thursday during my Online Paper Crafting Class. These are both made with the largest of the Pocket Thoughts Dies, the Reindeer Fun Stamp Set, and the Reindeer Days Designer Paper. To see four other versions of the Double Pocket card (the ones I shared on October 17th featuring the Season of Elegance Designer Paper and the coordinating Peaceful Season Stamps & Dies), click here.
It’s in that post that you’ll find the directions and tips for assembling. And below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list** for today’s versions of these cards. You’ll see that the measurements are for preparing supplies to make BOTH of these cards. That is because I cut the large pocket from two different colors of cardstock (Pool Party and Real Red), cut them into two, and then swapped them. So that each card uses “half” of each color.
**Products that I’m listing in this post are shown below and are currently linked to my online store.
Measurements to make BOTH cards…
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
(2) 3-1/8” x 4-5/8”
Cardstock for die-cutting lg. pocket (Pool Party and Real Red)
(one of each color) 4-1/2” x 5-1/2”
Darker cardstock for insert (Pool Party and Real Red)
(one of each color) 3” x 4-1/2”
Cardstock for sentiment banner (Pool Party and Basic White)
(one of each color) 1″ x 3-1/4″
Season of Elegance Designer Paper
4” x 8” (cut according to the directions in the video from 10/17/24 – pay attention to the designs when cutting)

If you watched my Online Paper Crafting Class this week, you saw me put together Double Pocket Cards with the Pocket Thoughts Dies, the Season of Elegance Specialty Paper, and the Peaceful Seasons Stamps & Dies.** I also shared in that instructional video peeks at some hand-crafted gifts I received from two recent events. Today I’m sharing photos of those event gifts AND photos and simple instructions for the gifts I put together and passed out at the second event.
**Products that I’m listing in this post are shown below and are currently linked to my online store.
My upline, Susan Campfield hosted a Leader event at her home in late September. Due to last minute transportation changes at our house, I couldn’t make it. So the next day she drove over and dropped off all my gifts and goodies.
Besides a beautiful pot of flowers, she gave me a pretty clipboard with a notebook and pen, a pair of warm slippers, and the flatware I would’ve used at the event within a cute holder she made with the Pocket Thoughts Dies, Season of Elegance Paper, and Autumn Expressions Stamps & Dies.
She also gifted me a pack of Gold Foil, a pack of that Season of Elegance Designer Paper, a bottle of Multipurpose Liquid Glue, a pack of Iridescent Foil Gems, a pack of 3×3 Flip Flaps, my own set of Pocket Thoughts Dies (I didn’t have these yet!), and all the consumables I would need for the three make-n-take projects that were created at the event.
Here is how those three projects came together.
The cocoa holder is similar to the flatware holder: two of the largest pocket dies are connected like a thin box. The card has the medium pocket die on the front that holds a gift card. The gift card pulls out because the bow is attached to a paper hook.
And the reindeer bag is made with two of the smallest pockets connected to a 1″ wide strip. Below are the back sides of the containers and the inside of the card.
Then last weekend (well…actually last Wednesday through Sunday) I attended a crafting retreat in Little Falls, Minnesota with some of my friends who are also fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. I didn’t do any scrapbooking like I had originally intended to, but I got a lot of other things accomplished.
We did a gift exchange, too! Here are all the creative gifts and gift packaging I went home with!
Cheryl Lee gave the cute little candy box with the melting snowman image. Teri Zupancich gave a spiral notebook and an autumn pillow box with candy (both fancied up with autumn leaves), and some Zup’s Seasoning from her family’s store in Ely, MN. Mary Marohl gave me a covered clipboard with a notepad and pen. Kayla Cory & Nancy Forsberg gave the green DSP bag of candy and the Halloween book box with Glue Dots inside. They also gave me the candle in the coordinating decorated box (a gift they were going to give me at Susan’s event). Vicki Spicer gave the 3D printed green take out box character, the light green post it holder with stencil, the sticky note tape rolls and dispenser, and an anti static powder tool. And Marciene Ingram gave the baby Frankenstein treat holder with candy and the easel sticky note holder with birds and a calendar.
I created wrapped labels (with “love notes”) with the Christmas Labels Stamps and Dies and gave out pairs of warm socks to everyone. I wrapped 9 pairs and let everyone choose the socks they wanted.
I used the Textured Metallic Specialty Paper in either copper, gold, or tungsten for the main label layer and band. Then I paired this metallic color with the socks and added a coordinating color of cardstock underneath for the band and the hidden note.
For the bling I used embellishments from the Faceted Gems Trio Pack. I colored some with Blends Markers for more coordination.
Here is another set of photos of these same socks so you can see which ones I decorated with the same metallic foil.
Looking at them this way, you can get a better peek at the details. The scrolls on the sides of the bands come from what gets cut out of the label when die-cutting.
As you can see from the notes, I hadn’t been on a retreat with these gals for some time… since March of 2020! COVID hit that exact weekend (I remember calling my husband to tell him to pick up canned foods and toilet paper), and then weekends in the following years were very busy with both my two boys in high school and all their activities.
I hope you enjoyed all these creative ideas. Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today.

(I’m so sorry about the technical glitches in my two attempts to go live yesterday. But yay!…it worked today!)
I was supposed to attend a special event on September 28th hosted by my upline, Susan Campfield. But plans changed for me, I ended up not being able to attend, and so Susan brought the make-n-take materials and gifts over to me the next day.
As part of the gifts, I received the Pocket Thoughts Dies and a pack of the Season of Elegance Designer Paper. The make-n-take projects were all designed with these items as well. So after assembling the projects, I thought it would be fun to create even more with these items. I was inspired! And I came up with a double pocket card. In fact I made four versions of the card with this paper and the coordinating Peaceful Season Stamps and Dies.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
You’ll also be able to see the make-n-take projects from this events!

What else can you make with the contents of the Christmas Ornaments Kits Collection Kit? How about cards? Why yes. Of course! I made six cards with my 2nd third of this kit. (I made wine bottle tags with my 1st third and shared those on September 14th. Visit that post if you want to see those projects.)
For each of these, you’ll need a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ sheet of Early Espresso Cardstock folded in half for the card base and a 3-3/4″ x 5″ Basic White layer for the inside. Then for three of them, you’ll need a 2″ diameter punched circle of Basic White to layer onto the three kit circles that don’t have white centers.
First stamp all your circles.
Lay out the pieces on your card, pull them away to stamp the background foliage images, then add them back in with adhesive.
Be sure to add your sentiment layer with Dimensionals.
And then embellish to add a bit more texture.
I used images from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set. But there are probably many other stamp sets you could try using instead.
And did you notice that though this is a Christmas kit, changing the sentiment can make these cards work for other times of the year or other occasions. In fact they would make great masculine birthday cards.
If you want to put together the kit as intended, Stampin’ Up includes a sheet of visual directions within the kit. But you can also access directions through videos too. Click here to see the instructional video for this kit.

For this week’s Online Paper Crafting Class I’ll be once again “dividing to multiply.” I’ll use just one pack of the Gold Dipped Cards & Envelopes (a pack of 9) to make 36 cards! So I guess you could say I’m quadrupling the amount of cards. If you are looking to make lots of pretty Christmas cards quickly, check out what I have to share today.
The Gold Dipped Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes are stunning as you will see. These along with the Joyful Ephemera packs debuted when the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog was released on September 4. So I purchased them and came up with a way to cut the cards & envelopes into “designer paper layers.” Then I added these to Basic White Cardstock bases and decorated by adding the ephemera pieces and some embellishments.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for how to make these quick (yet stunning!) Christmas cards with these Gold Dipped Cards/Envelopes and a 1/2 pack each of the Joyful Sayings and Joyful Images Ephemera. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
FYI…the last 10 minutes were cut off due to some unknown technology glitch. (Grrr…right?) But basically I was just showing off the remainder of the cards in the same order as you will see in the photos below. And there is no time to fix it because I’m heading out of town. Sorry everyone.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Click here to access and download a printable “measurements & supplies” sheet.
Measurements to make all 36…
Basic White Cardstock
(36) 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
Gold Dipped Cards
From each card cut a ¾” x 8-1/2” strip to get nine strips
Then from each card cut in half to get two 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” pieces (18 altogether – 6 of each color)
Gold Dipped Envelopes
Cut 1/16” off the sides of each envelope to open them all up. Then cut the white half from the rest and trim each of these down to 5-1/2” wide (9 altogether)
Then cut the main full section to 4-1/4” deep x almost 6-1/2” wide. Trim this into two pieces to get one that is 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” and one that is 7/8” x 4-1/4” (9 of each altogether – 3 of each color)
Finally trim the flaps down to 1-7/8” x 5-1/2 (9 altogether – 3 of each color)
Here are images to help remind you how to cut the cards and envelopes to get all the layers.
And now I present photos of the 36 cards I just shared in my video!
Crazy amazing!! I hope you enjoyed what I shared today!
Winners: No prize winners today because that portion of the video cut out on me. Sorry. We will draw additional prizes next week.

Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase our September 2024Autumn AbundancePaper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas that my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends shared.*
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this September 2024 kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on September 21st.
Four unique alternate card ideas including
a z-fold thinking of you card
a fall leaves matchbook fold card
a fall leaf pocket card
and a snail and mushroom pocket card
AND… a thankful 12×12 scrapbook page layout
Today I am sharing…
A wine bottle tag
A card with a removable corner bookmark
A layered wreath card
AND… three Halloween wrapped treats
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
The wine bottle tag is something that instantly came to mind when I saw the kit card base with the cut out circle in the center. This is the end that goes over the top of the bottle. I cut 2″ off the opposite side with my Trimmer and then reconnected them with the Cajun Craze square piece to not only make the tag longer & more rectangular, but to create a dark solid center for the sentiment focal point.
The sentiment is added with Dimensionals. I tucked in ephemera leaves from the kit, added with a Glue Dot a bow of Night of Navy & Gold Glittered Ribbon (9″ cut along the outside edges to get two long thin strands), and embellished with a couple Copper Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
This next idea was inspired by a card I received from friend and fellow demonstrator, Candace Johnson. She sent me a card this summer with a removable corner bookmark. And here is my version I made with this kit.
On the inside you can see the slit. I wrote lightly in pencil to show what the slit was holding. I wanted the tree slice image on both the outside and inside of the card. So I cut 3-1/2″ off the one side, cut that down to 4-3/4″ high, adhered it to the middle of a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock after adding the copper heat embossed sentiment, and then wrapped that extra 3/4″ from the full card around to the back side of the Early Espresso layer to connect and form the full card. I added the slit for the bookmark 3″ down from the top and 1/2″ in from each side.
I made the bookmark from a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ corner that I cut from the kit envelope with the Cajun Craze lining. From that same lining, I cut a 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ square and adhered that to the front. After stamping the branch image, I added on the leaf ephemera (using Multipurpose Liquid Glue) and the sequins.
My next idea is a card with a wreath. I discovered that putting two of those semi-circle ephemera together made a pretty wreath. To make it prettier, I simply added the leaves, the Cajun Craze strip and a sentiment
This image below just shows how I got the Pecan Pie layer, the Cajun Craze torn edge, and (both flipped over) the inside rectangular layer and leaf patterned curved accent on the bottom front.
Many who may be missing Halloween treat ideas from this year’s kit might appreciate these next three ideas…all candy wraps. The first one is super simple. I took half of the leaf card base and wrapped it around a pack of Sweet Tarts Ropes candy that I had first made super narrow and short by taping the sides and ends in. I secured the wrapped card base by stapling it shut. Then I added the stamped sentiment circle with Dimensionals.
This second one is my favorite. I first cut open the Night of Navy lined envelope and tore it as shown to create a fun edge. I cut out an Early Espresso “Hooray” using the die from the Every Celebration Dies set.
Then I cut the “Hooray” into these pieces…
…and positioned the pieces differently to form the word “boo.”
Here is the end result wrapped around a Hersey bar. The mouth on the ghost is from the H in the die-cut Hooray.
Here is the third wrapped treat idea. For this one I used the smaller envelope lining and wrapped it around a Kit-Kat bar. I added triangular white cardstock from the kit scraps and added them to the ends of the blue leaves to make them look like monster fingers (with fingernails) wrapping around from the back side of the bar. Spooky, right!? Hahaha! I’m thinking a couple eyes peeking over the top of the corner would make it more fun, but I ran out of time and had to get this all posted in time for the blog hop.
OH! Here is an image of the back sides of these last four projects.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
