Today I’m sharing a couple photos, measurements and a supply list for this fun Staggered Strip Z-Fold Card that I created with the Trusty Tools stamp set and coordinating dies. Because of the sentiment imagery in the stamp set, I made this into a Father’s Day card, but you could totally change out the words and gift this fun card to any handy tool-loving person in your life.

Oh yay!! My April 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit finally arrived late Monday night! So Tuesday I created with the contents of the kit. Wednesday (yesterday) I shared my first set of alternate project ideas during my Live Online Paper Crafting Class on YouTube (did you see it?). And this morning I had time to photograph them all and share them with all of you. I have even more ideas, so I’ll share again on May 1st within the collection of exclusives that my Paper Pumpkin Creatives Team is currently compiling. And then I’ll share again on May 9th at the same time some of my fellow demonstrator friends are also sharing. We will connect our blog posts together so you can see all of our ideas at once!

I love to show kit recipients other ways to use their supplies. I like to think outside the box, see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages, and more. So today I’m sharing with you how you can turn the supplies for the three different kit cards into 13 cards. That’s more than quadrupling the cards that you can get from one kit! AND I share variations of many of these cards to show you options.

My apologies. I had originally scheduled this post to go live this morning. But my right arm/hand had been hurting recently. So yesterday I tried to stay away from all my devices to rest. And forgot about finishing my scheduled post! Obviously by the email many of you got this morning, I didn’t have anything in order…only the title. The rest of the email was partially copied from a previous post. Hahaha! What a mess.
So here is my Perennial Lavender version of the Strip Closure Z-Fold Card I had promised. Here is the front in it’s closed position.

I gave directions for this style card in my Online Paper Crafting Class last Wednesday, April 16th. Be sure to check out that post and the directions in that video for tips and instruction.
For this version I used the super popular Perennial Lavender Designer Paper, a couple Perennial Postage Dies, and heat embossed sentiments from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. For a list of all the supplies I used, scroll down to the bottom of this post. These supplies are linked to where you can find them in my Online Store, too.
My suggestion is to prepare the following supplies and then watch the April 16th video working with your cardstock as you go.
Measurements…
Pretty Peacock Cardstock:
5-1/2” x 11” scored in each side at 1-3/4” and 3-1/2”
2” x 4-1/8”, 1” x 4-1/8”, 2-1/2” x 4-1/8”
Scraps for die-cutting postage stamp layers (2″ x 2-3/4″ and 3/4″ x 1-7/8″)
Perennial Lavender Designer Paper:
1-3/4” x 2-1/2” (front middle)
(2) 1-5/8″ x 5-3/8” (for inside sides)
3-7/8″ x 5-3/8” (for inside middle)
4” x 5-1/8” (cut into three panels for front)
1-7/8″ x 4″
7/8″ x 4″
2-3/8″ x 4″
Vellum Cardstock:
2-3/4” x 3-1/2”
The other tips I would share for THIS version of the card…
Add the more solid 1-3/4” x 2-1/2” purple designer paper layer to the die-cut 2″ x 2-3/4″ Pretty Peacock Cardstock layer. Then add this to the vellum layer. With all of these connected, put adhesive just on the back of the vellum where the cardstock sits and only at the very top and very bottom. Hold the card closed and adhere the top layer in place. There should be NO adhesive through the middle. We want that middle strip to be able to slide separately.
The stamps in the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set are clear photopolymer. So I recommend die-cutting the 3/4″ x 1-7/8″ sentiment strip first. Then stamp with Versamark ink, apply the White Emboss Powder (tap off the excess) to the image, and then (while holding onto the strip with the tweezers) heat with the Heat Tool to set. Add this to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
Then embellish with the gems.
I didn’t, but you can certainly stamp a sentiment on the inside too.

I love the Fancy Borders stamp set and coordinating dies and finally took some time to create with them. I wanted to do a layered cloud card with lots of depth. I also wanted to incorporate the leaves images (surprise surprise 😁). My fun fold card inspiration came from easel cards I’ve seen (and received) with a pop up “stopper” layer for the inside. And I’m excited to show you how I put it all together.
I want to tell you though…I have a different variation of the one you see in the photos here. I changed up a few things at the last minute.

Today I went Live on YouTube and shared how to make a Strip Closure Z-Fold Card using products from the Otterly Adorable Suite: The Otterly Adorable Designer Paper, and the retiring Otterly Amazing Stamps and Dies. This style of fun fold looks similar to the Triple Panel Gate Fold Cards. But the panels on a z-fold can slide parallel to the base to open, so they can be held down with another panel on top that closes and secures everything fairly flat.

Are you excited to get your hands on the new 2025-2027 In Colors that I shared with you on March 18th? If you are a demonstrator (or you decide to purchase the Starter Kit soon to become one), you can preorder some of the new In Color supplies that are debuting May 6th right now…cardstock, inks, markers, etc. But there is one new product containing all of these new colors that anyone can purchase right now (whether you are a demonstrator or not)….the Paper Bouquet Kit from the Kits Collection!
You know me. I love to alter the kits to share other options with all of you. So I didn’t make a full bouquet as shown above.
Mine is a bit more on the delicate side.
I wanted to save pieces from the kit to make other things.
So with Easter and May Day around the corner, I made a basket.
Floral Basket The base of this basket is one 12″ x 12″ sheet of designer paper scored 4″ in on each side. I removed the outer 4″ x 4″ corners, then folded up the remaining sides. I then connected two strips of 3/4″ x 8-1/2″ Basic White cardstock together with a bit of Tear & Tape adhesive, curled the full strip a bit using my Bone Folder tool, and adhered it to the outer upper edges of the basket sides to form the rim.
Next I added the handle. I connected two strips of 1″ x 8-1/2″ Basic White cardstock together with a bit of Tear & Tape adhesive, curled it a bit using my Bone Folder tool, and then attached the ends (with more Tear & Tape) to opposite sides of the basket rim. To thicken and reinforce the bottom of the basket I added a piece of dark cardstock (I used Basic Black) that measures just under 4″ x just under 4″.
Then I put together a few flowers (minus the wire) per the kit directions. I used Tear & Tape along the flower center crepe paper pieces. I found this worked well and kept the stamen wraps attached the beads. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to layer the flower petal sheets (put the glue ONLY around the center holes). I used hot glue to attach the heavy leaves and flowers to the basket AND to add the stamens/flower centers.
Lastly I added a sentiment along the rim of the basket on another strip of 3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Basic White that I stamped with Garden Green ink. And I added a few pearl embellishments for more color and interest.
Here are a few more close up views showing the flowers better.
Notice that I really roughed up my stamens to make them look more realistic.
And curling the flower petals and leaves makes them look great too. Have fun with it!
If you just want to create something simple, may I suggest this other creative option for the kit…greeting cards. Yes, once again omit the wire (omit the beads, too) and just assemble the flower petal sheets.
Floral Cards The base cardstock for each card measures 4-1/4″ x 11″ folded in half at 5-1/2″. The designer paper layer measures 4″ x 4″. I just used the extra pieces that I had removed when making my basket. The flower centers are the same pearl embellishments I used on my basket – from the Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio pack. The sentiments stamped in Garden Green ink come from the same stamp set, Fancy Borders. And the leaves I created with the scraps from the kit.
I punched out sections with my 2-3/8″ Circle Punch to create curved edges.
I then reinserted those scraps to create curved edges on the opposite sides.
Then I added a crease in the middle.
Here are two more cards. This second white flower card features leaves from the kit and the upcoming 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearl embellishments in the color, Cloud Cover.
For adhesives, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to connect the flower petal layers (put the glue ONLY around the center holes) and to add the inner ends of the leaves. I used Mini Dimensionals under the outer ends of the leaves to keep the curved look intact.
