My apologies. I had originally scheduled this post to go live this morning. But my right arm/hand had been hurting recently. So yesterday I tried to stay away from all my devices to rest. And forgot about finishing my scheduled post! Obviously by the email many of you got this morning, I didn’t have anything in order…only the title. The rest of the email was partially copied from a previous post. Hahaha! What a mess.
So here is my Perennial Lavender version of the Strip Closure Z-Fold Card I had promised. Here is the front in it’s closed position.

I gave directions for this style card in my Online Paper Crafting Class last Wednesday, April 16th. Be sure to check out that post and the directions in that video for tips and instruction.
For this version I used the super popular Perennial Lavender Designer Paper, a couple Perennial Postage Dies, and heat embossed sentiments from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. For a list of all the supplies I used, scroll down to the bottom of this post. These supplies are linked to where you can find them in my Online Store, too.
My suggestion is to prepare the following supplies and then watch the April 16th video working with your cardstock as you go.
Measurements…
- Pretty Peacock Cardstock:
- 5-1/2” x 11” scored in each side at 1-3/4” and 3-1/2”
- 2” x 4-1/8”, 1” x 4-1/8”, 2-1/2” x 4-1/8”
- Scraps for die-cutting postage stamp layers (2″ x 2-3/4″ and 3/4″ x 1-7/8″)
- Perennial Lavender Designer Paper:
- 1-3/4” x 2-1/2” (front middle)
- (2) 1-5/8″ x 5-3/8” (for inside sides)
- 3-7/8″ x 5-3/8” (for inside middle)
- 4” x 5-1/8” (cut into three panels for front)
- 1-7/8″ x 4″
- 7/8″ x 4″
- 2-3/8″ x 4″
- Vellum Cardstock:
- 2-3/4” x 3-1/2”
The other tips I would share for THIS version of the card…
- Add the more solid 1-3/4” x 2-1/2” purple designer paper layer to the die-cut 2″ x 2-3/4″ Pretty Peacock Cardstock layer. Then add this to the vellum layer. With all of these connected, put adhesive just on the back of the vellum where the cardstock sits and only at the very top and very bottom. Hold the card closed and adhere the top layer in place. There should be NO adhesive through the middle. We want that middle strip to be able to slide separately.
- The stamps in the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set are clear photopolymer. So I recommend die-cutting the 3/4″ x 1-7/8″ sentiment strip first. Then stamp with Versamark ink, apply the White Emboss Powder (tap off the excess) to the image, and then (while holding onto the strip with the tweezers) heat with the Heat Tool to set. Add this to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
- Then embellish with the gems.
I didn’t, but you can certainly stamp a sentiment on the inside too.
