Need an easy yet elegant Valentine treat idea? How about these pretty Merci chocolate candy wraps?
I shared this candy wrap idea here on my blog back in December (click here for the written step-by-step directions). But one of my blog viewers requested that I share the process of putting these together with a video. So this time I used a fun new set of designer papers – Painted With Love from our 2018 Occasions catalog.
Then I recorded this Facebook Live how-to video this past Wednesday and uploaded it to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video, check out the measurements below so that you can recreate these fun candy wraps, and then let me know if you have any questions. If you ARE on Facebook, I invite you to “like” then “follow” my page so you can get updates when I share and when I go live every Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM Central Time.
These are really quite quick and easy to put together. Here are the measurements:
- Painted With Love Specialty Designer Paper: 3″ x 6″
- Coordinating Cardstock: 1-3/4″ x 5/8″ scored 3/4″ in at each end
- Coordinating Cardstock: 1″ tall strip
- Gold 1/8″ Ribbon: about 10-11″
And here are some helpful photos.

Rachel, these are so fun and a bit different. They work perfectly with the Merci chocolates. I saw your earlier version and the written directions and thought cute but I have never had those chocolates before. Well, seeing them with this new DSP and I found the metallic doilies I had bought, I am ready to watch the video and get started on these. Maybe I will make one for each of the employees at the grocery store I shop at as they are all the best! They even sell the candy there. Just when I thought the sentiment was cute and I would have to find something else to use, I looked at your “ingredients” and there is a set that I have! Thanks for making my day Rachel!
I’m so happy that you are able to make these right away! Yay!! That is so sweet of you to gift the local grocery store workers, Chris!
