It’s the last Thursday of the month, so it’s time to see lots of ideas with the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up!®
#APaperPumpkinThing
Today is the day where several of us Stampin’ Up! demonstrators bring to you our special “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop. See what I have to share, then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we came up with using the contents of this month’s “Heartfelt Love Notes” Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop, simply scroll down to click the “next” button or click on the names of other participants in the hop.
This month’s kit is so sweet! Click here to see the January kit video put out by Stampin’ Up! where you can view how to make these intended fun note cards.
Because I’m a mom and a former elementary teacher, I wanted to figure out a way to turn the supplies for these 16 note cards into 32 Valentines. So I started separating everything out and doing “the math.” And here’s what I came up with!
Each note card from the kit is split in half and sealed on the open side with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Anything long and skinny will fit inside for this Valentine treat. In fact (as you can see) the objects can stick out the other end. Pixie Sticks are perfect, but you could also use pencils, pens, rulers, individually wrapped licorice, etc.
I included this project in my how-to video that I’ll share in a few days just in case what I shared today wasn’t enough information. But I know many moms and teachers are already looking to see what they can come up with for Valentine’s Day. So I wanted to share this idea (at least in photos) sooner than later.
These are the extra supplies I used (besides the gifts inside) to make these Valentines:

Super ideas for the kids! I’ll put them together for my grandsons and get some small treats to share with them. Thank you!
Oh yay! Glad you like the idea, Kathy! I’ll do a step by step in the video that I’m hoping to post on Monday.
thanks, I had wanted to stretch this kit as well and couldn’t figure out how. thanks for solving the problem
Oh, good! I’m glad you enjoyed my idea, Carrie. These are pretty simple to make. But in my video that I will post either Sunday or Monday, I share step-by-step how to put these together (just in case you need more than what I shared here).
Cute project.
Thanks Audra. My kiddos all of a sudden are “to big” to bring Valentines to school. I’m so sad. LOL I’m going to still try to convince my 5th grader, but for now he wants to be like his older brother (who is in middle school). How do they grow so fast?!
Rachel, these are some fabulous ideas! I’ve said before that I’m not a scrapbooker, but your ideas and layouts are pushing me closer all the time. The daisy pages are beyond beautiful! We are so lucky to have you share your work with us. Thank you.
Thanks Kathy! I’m heading out on a scrapbooking retreat tomorrow morning! So excited!!
Oops, sorry. I have commented about your video showing the alternate ideas. Oh, well, there hadn’t been anything but clever and cute for all the January PP projects!
