It's a Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

It’s the last Thursday of the month, so it’s time to see lots of ideas with the November 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin’ Up!®
#APaperPumpkinThing

Today is the day where several of us Stampin’ Up! demonstrators bring to you our special “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop. See what I have to share, then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see more creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we came up with using the contents of this month’s “Back in Plaid” Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop, simply scroll down to click the “next” button or click on the names of other participants in the hop.

This month’s kit is adorable! Click here to see the November kit video put out by Stampin’ Up! where you can view how to make the intended stocking treat holders.

I’ve already shared several of my creations in a few past posts using the contents of this kit:

and a combination of this kit and last month’s coordinating Pining for Plaid kit:

So I decided to “cut loose.” I got a little silly with my creations for today’s blog hop project. I call these my “overly excited” monsters. Ha! I was actually trying to manipulate the stocking to look like a cute snowman my mom had shown me when she was here visiting. But I couldn’t make it look as cute as when she did it. So rather than giving up, I got goofy and actually liked what I ended up with.

I made the smaller set of teeth on the snow monster with the Ticket Tear Border Punch. They are adhered with Glue Dots to the inside fold of the snow monster. The arms (branches), eyes and bow are also attached with Glue Dots.

The larger teeth on the card monster are the bottoms a few of the banner pieces that come in the kit. I scored my 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crumb Cake cardstock card base at 1-1/4″ from one end and at 3″ from the other end. Then I adhered my three teeth pieces to the 1-1/4″ section and folded up & stuck this flap down with Dimensionals in the middle for a little lift and Glue Dots on the outer edges.

The teeth hold the top 3″ section of the card closed, and the card opens like a matchbook.

Before assembling the card monster I sponged the edges of the eyelids and around the mouth to give the appearance of a little dimension the ace. This is an optional step, but it really does add a lot to the card. (By the way, all the supplies I used to create these two projects are listed below.)

(The inside sentiment stamp image comes from last month’s October kit. But the “joy” image would work here, too.)

My snow monster gal is stuffed with the blue tissue paper that comes in the kit, but I’m sure you crafters that work with fabric would probably prefer batting. I was too lazy to see if I had any.

P.S. I am putting together another Online Paper Crafters Club and am looking for a few more members to join in. The commitment is to place an order each month for 6 months in row. In one of those months you would get the Stampin’
Rewards (the free goodies) based on the collective orders from those in the club. The other perks would be free catalogs shipped to you, a set of 6 free hand-stamped cards at the end of the 6-month commitment, and exclusive project ideas emailed to you each month. I’m hoping to start this club at the beginning of January. You do not need to live near me. Anyone in the US can join. Let me know if you are interested!
