Did you see the beautiful eclipse swap card I shared on September 16 made by Juliann Knudsen? I LOVED that card and decided right away when I got it that I needed to create scrapbook pages around it. So this is what I designed. And these were the pages that my scrapbookers made at my class on September 14th.
Isn’t “OMG You are remarkable” a fun title for a page? (OMG stands for Oh my gosh. Well…at OUR house it does.)
I loved the color combo Juliann used for the flowers in her card: Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Garden Green, and Early Espresso. So I kept that same combo in my pages and added ribbon, designer paper and cardstock to match.
The eclipse technique is a pretty easy one…
- Stamp the images.
- Die-cut the shapes.
- Adhere everything back in place onto another layer of darker cardstock being sure to raise the die-cut shapes up with Dimensionals.
And… I personally like to offset my raised shapes (the letters) just slightly to the right so that more of the dark cardstock underneath “outlines” them a bit.
After designing that scrapbook page layout above, I came up with a couple other options for titles and a more autumn or masculine variation on the colors.
“BTW (By the way)
Live with Passion
Laugh out loud
Love deeply” was one of the more popular title choices during the class. And again you can see I offset the raised letters slightly to the right and down a bit.
Oh! And to save time, these pages only required one fully stamped and fussy-cut extra flower to accent the pages. It’s just cut in half to look like two flowers.
This was the other color combo: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Early Espresso. And here are a few measurements if you wish to recreate these pages.
Measurements for a set of pages:
- Rich Razzleberry (or Cajun Craze) Cardstock: 2 pieces that are 12″ x 12″
- Garden Green Cardstock: 4 pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″…7-1/8″ x 5-1/8″…and scraps for stamping and punching the 3 sets of leaves
- Early Espresso Cardstock: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 4″ x 5-1/4″…and a scrap for stamping and cutting out another flower
- Garden Green Ribbon: 2 pieces that are at least 12″ long
- Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper (green striped pattern): 12″ x 1-1/4″…6″ x 1-1/4″…and 3″ x 1-1/4″
The third option for a title is…
“FYI (For your information)
Life is a
beautiful
thing”
(I thought this Cajun Craze page layout looked better with pearls. And I thought the Rich Razzleberry one was better with rhinestones.)
Now that I shared all these photos and details I hope you don’t get frustrated when I tell you that we no longer carry Cajun Craze and Rich Razzleberry in our 12×12 size cardstock. UGH! Yes, seriously. I had such a surplus of these colors from when it was in past year’s catalogs that I needed to use some of it up for my class. So it’s not in the product list below. Sorry about that. But you did see how easy it was to just change out the colors. So here are a few other suggestions to try.
Berry Burst 12″ x 12″ with Berry Burst and Powder Pink flowers
Real Red 12″ x 12″ with Real Red and Crushed Curry flowers
Pumpkin Pie 12″ x 12″ with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry flowers

Love the new look for your page.
The scrapbook pages are terrific. Especially like the OMG color combination.
Thanks so much Dianne. That color combination is the one that Juliann had used in her card (the card that inspired the pages). I loved it too!
I’m not a scrapbooker but I love the pages. Great use of the eclipse technique!
Thanks so much Susan. 🙂
