Woo hoo! It’s that time of the month when I post my Paper Pumpkin video of alternate project ideas. This month I got my kit a little later than usual (just two days ago!). So instead of two separate blog posts, I’m placing my initial introduction of the kit with the video in today’s post as part of the monthly blog hop I’m in.
#APaperPumpkinThing
Welcome to our monthly “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the February 2021 Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop and see other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
This month’s kit contained the supplies shown below to make nine beautiful full-size cards (3 of 3 designs).
These are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
- A simple pop-up card
- A double-fold gate card
- A couple picnic baskets
- Several extra cards using coordinating papers and cardstock
- And a fun way to give a bit of chocolate
Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again, because I will have more to share on March 9th or 10th.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch my video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

Almost each month I say you out did yourself with the alternatives. This month is no exception! I just wanted to thank you for all your fun ideas that you share with us. Thanks again, now on to the video!
Aww…thank you Chris! 😘
Wow! Love this Paper Pumpkin! You are so talented. Thank you for sharing, Do you know if there will be a refill kit? Sure hope so!
How on earth can you keep a large supply of chocolates in your craft room? You must have lots of self control! I have a large sweet tooth and absolutely no self control when it comes to chocolate! 😅
Yep…the refills were posted I think yesterday. Yay!
Thank you Barbee. ❤️
Hahaha! Thanks for the giggle on the chocolates comment.
Wowee, Rachel, you really went to town with this kit! Your projects are terrific!
Thank you Candy. I usually share my mass load of alternates (with a video) about a week before the blog hop. But my kit arrived late. So I had to combine that with the hop this time. I hope I didn’t overwhelm too many. There already is SO much to see with the hop itself.
Oh my gosh, you have done an amazing job stretching the kit – and all such beautiful cards and projects. Not sure if you’ll have time for a question, but you always make the Stampin’ Seal adhesive work perfectly. I have wasted the first insert – because it just would not roll and apply the adhesive correctly. I am on my second refill – and still having trouble. Any hints?? Thanks kindly for sharing your time with awesome videos.
Thank you Kathy!
For the adhesive, my suggestion is to google some YouTube videos. There are some good ones out there that I found very helpful.
Rachel,
I JUST found you this past month while I was sick in bed! I LOVE your work and creativity!! I haven’t stamped IN YEARS…but this caused me to go to ebay and buy a Feb 2021 Paper Pumpkiin set so I could try it! Your tip using the “Glad Press N Seal” worked like a charm!! Thank you for sharing your talent with people like me that love to craft but need a little inspiration!!!
Thank you for sharing this with me Laura! How fun to read. Hope you are feeling better.
