I shared a couple simple cards that I made with the new stamp set called Cute Fruit at the beginning of my Online Paper Crafting Class that I aired and posted on July 15th. Click here to see that video. And then I made a couple more cards soon after the video ended. So today I thought I quickly share photos of all four of these quick and easy cards.
These are the two I shared in the video. The one on the right I CASEd from a card sample in the Beginner Brochure.
The one in the Beginner Brochure had slightly a softer look. I used a couple darker colors to stamp my sentiment, watermelon rinds, and pineapple tops.
And this card was my own design. Those faces images are just too funny.
Then I played around some more. For this third card I inked up only half of the citrus images to get a slice of orange. I gave the kiwi slices some seeds and added some dash mark designs in the corners by drawing them with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker. And I used that same image but stamped it in blue for a blueberry.
Then for this last card I wanted only one melon to stand out to really emphasize the wording in the sentiment. So I added a couple of those Fine Tip Glue seeds I made on July 15th and stamped the extra watermelon slices in Smoky Slate.
(The lighter gray is Smoky Slate stamped off: stamped onto scrap paper first and then stamped on the card. So it’s the same gray just a lighter version.)
You can find the Cute Fruit set here in the online store. Or you can find it on pages 6 & 7 of the Beginner Brochure. (FYI…it is not shown in the Annual Catalog.)
I hope these “sweet” cards inspired your creativity!
If you tuned in to my Online Paper Crafting Class this past Wednesday, you may be curious about my son’s injury. The diagnosis is a fracture. Yep…he fell on his pinky finger when he dismounted off the parallel bars in gymnastics Tuesday night, and fractured his largest phalange bone.
The orthopedic doctor was able to straighten it a bit at that first appointment using finger pulls and manipulation. We went home with his hand wrapped in a supportive bandage while the doctor consulted with the surgeon. But by the time we came back today to get it casted, it had moved back to the more crooked look you see here in this x-ray. So the doctor is once again going to consult with the surgeon. In the meantime while things are once again up in the air, his finger is now in a sturdier brace.
I’m getting impatient though, because the bone is already beginning to fuse incorrectly. And I’m worried that if we don’t do corrective surgery (and do it soon), this may affect the way he plays piano, plays the drums, or participates in gymnastics and other sports.

Thank you Christine. 🙂

PS I’m also amazed that you got this post out considering what you are going through right now! Rachel – You ROCK!
?
Rachel,
I’m sorry for what you’re going through. I continue to be amazed at all you create and share!
Thank you Amy. We settled on no surgery yesterday after meeting with a surgeon who explained the process of bone growth in the fingers at Nick’s age. We feel positive that improvements will happen naturally as he gets older.
