Designer paper packs that are geared towards specific holidays sometimes make it hard for us to create beyond. I know when I purchased the Magic In This Night and the Snowflake Splendor packs, I had Halloween and Winter in mind.

Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper

But when I was looking for some background designs in specific colors to make welcome cards for new demonstrators in my community, I took of my “blinders” and found a beautiful dark gray stripe design from the Halloween pack and a gorgeous mixed blue wash from the snowy papers.

This is the first card I put together.

    • Scrap for die-cutting wreath
  • Basic Black Cardstock

    • 3″ x 4-1/4″ for inside layer

Directions:

  • Die-cut the stitched square and the wreath.
  • Snip the clusters of leaves from the wreath. (You’ll actually get way more than two clusters from one wreath.)
  • Stamp the images onto the stitched square.
  • Attach the two sets of leaves under the top and bottom edges of the designer paper.
  • Now assemble the card by first attaching the Basic Black Cardstock strips to the top and bottom areas on the front of the card. Then add the designer paper between. Don’t press down any of these pieces until all the layers are in a place where everything looks balanced.
  • Add the larger white layer to the inside of the card using Seal Adhesive. Add the smaller white layer to the front of the card using Dimensionals.
  • Embellish with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
