Below is a project I forgot to share a few months back. It’s a little matchbook-style gift or card holder. I made this so it would hold Demo Dollars (money that I gift to the stampers in my group for various reasons). It also holds gift cards and cash pretty well, but you could certainly adjust the dimensions so it would hold something larger or much smaller.
Measurements:
- Bundle of Love designer paper: 3″ x 8″ scored at 3-1/4″, 3-3/8″, and 7-1/4″
- Very Vanilla cardstock: scrap for stamping and punching the 1-1/4″ circle
- Gold Foil paper: 3″ x 3/4″
- Gold 1/8″ Ribbon: about 3″
This Bundle of Love paper is featured in the Annual Catalog and is super pretty in person with its gold foil design on one side and a soft pink (Blushing Bride) or soft blue (Soft Sky) pattern on the other.
After stamping and punching the sentiment, I folded the designer paper on the score lines, adhered the Gold Foil strip of paper just behind the bottom fold so about 1/8 of an inch peeked out from the edge, and then I stapled it shut in the middle of that section with a mini staple. I added the Gold Ribbon that I just tied in a knot with a Glue Dot and trimmed the ends.
Then I added the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers where they looked best and attached the circular sentiment in the center with a Dimensional.
As you can see below I made each one of these to look a little different by changing the designer paper and the stickers.
The Demo Dollars tucked inside pretty well, but as I said you could easily add a gift card or regular dollar bills in this size matchbook-style gift holder. Wouldn’t these be great for Valentine’s Day with a flat treat or a set of coupons inside?
