Isn't everyone's favorite season Summer?! It is for me. I love that my family can spend time at the lake.
I took this photo of Luke, Nick and their cousin Robbie (in the middle) last Saturday. We lucked out and had beautiful weather up there all 5 days. I'm missing the bliss of sitting on the dock watching my kids play and listening to the loons. Thankfully we'll be up there one more time before school starts and the cooler weather starts to set in.
I made this card a few days ago when I was thinking back on all the fun we had.
It's a z-fold card (I know…I'm into z-fold cards lately) featuring the Seaside Shore stamp set, By The Shore Designer Paper, Layering Circles Framelits and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. (See a full list of the supplies I used below.)
Measurements:
Dapper Denim Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4" scored from the short end at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" for the card base & 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" for die-cutting waves
Basic Black Cardstock: scrap that is about 4" x 3"
By The Shore Designer Paper: blue waves pattern 4" x 6" cut at about 2-9/16" down from the top (to make it easier to fold the card shut) & red waves pattern scrap for stamping and die-cutting circles scrap that is about 2-1/2" x 6"
Gold Foil Sheet: scrap that is about 5-1/2" x 3"
Tips:
You can create 12 of these cards from one pack of designer paper because of the way the wave design in the blue and red waves designer paper goes from light to dark to light again.
Stamp THEN die-cut circles. I used the 2-1/8" and 1-5/8" circle dies (and coordinating scallop circle dies).
Trim the "leaves" off the medium scribbles die (the one on the bottom of the card) before attaching. Attach these scribbles using either the Fine Tip Glue or the Multipurpose Glue.
Close the card to attach the "bubbles."
After making the first card, I put together this simple second one using pieces that I had tried to include when I was designing my first one.
Measurements:
Dapper Denim Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" scored at 4-1/4" (card base)
Basic Black Cardstock: scrap that is about 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"
By The Shore Designer Paper: blue waves pattern 4" x 4" and 2" x 4" for the inside & red waves pattern scrap for stamping and die-cutting circle (use what is remaining from the 2-1/2" x 6" piece from the first card)
Gold Foil Sheet: scrap that is about 2" x 2"
Additional Tips:
I used the 1-7/8" circle die (and coordinating scallop circle die).
Die-cut only one small gold scribble. Attach 1/2 of this scribble (using either the Fine Tip Glue or the Multipurpose Glue) to one edge of the designer paper. Trim off the excess. Then attach this excess to the other edge of the designer paper.
FYI…My holiday catalog & pre-order came yesterday!! (The Holiday Catalog will debut in September, so demonstrators have access to it a month early.) I'm going to dive in today and start creating! I can't wait!! I LOVE being able to order early – one of the great perks of being a demonstrator. 😀 So I hope to be sharing some fun ideas with those products soon.
One of my favorite classes that I offer my local crafters (and starting in August will offer all of you as a to-go class, too!) is my Scrappin' class. During the school year it is offered on Sunday afternoons – Scrappin' Sunday, but this month it is being held tonight, on a Thursday – Scrappin' Thursday. Weekend classes just don't work here in Minnesota in the Summer. Our very few days of nice weather are precious, so everyone vacations on weekends.
This is a popular class. Sometimes I have to split the group into two different times to fit everyone in for table space! So in my world traditional scrapbooking is still going strong. We LOVE to make our photo/memory pages with good ol' cardstock, stamp images, papers and embellishments!
Here is the layout we'll be putting together at tonight's class.
If you would like to recreate these pages, read through the information below and purchase any supplies from the Product List that you may need. (Every $50 you spend through the end of this month will earn you a $5 off coupon to use in August. Click here for more information.)
Measurements:
Dapper Denim Cardstock: 2 sheets of 12×12 and 4" x 1-3/4"
Daffodil Delight Cardstock: 4" x 11-3/4" and and 4-1/4" x 4-1/4"
Whisper White Cardstock: 3-3/4" x 11-1/2" and 4" x 1-3/4" and scraps for stamping boat and "Celebrate"
Marina Mist Cardstock: 5 pieces that are 5-1/2" x 4-1/8"
Silver Foil Sheet: 4" x 1-3/4"
Marina Mist Designer Paper (from the Subtles stack): 3-3/4" x 6"
Silver 1/8" Ribbon: about 12"
Tips:
Die-cut sunburst from 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" Daffodil Delight piece. Cut ray ends at fun angles to create a more circular sun shape. Then stamp the swirl image with Daffodil Delight ink in the center.
Die-cut swirl shape from lower center of 4" x 11-3/4" Daffodil Delight piece. Add to sun shape using Multipurpose glue.
Stamp boat and "Let's Celebrate" images on scrap white and cut them out.
Die-cut wave shape from silver foil, 4" x 1-3/4" white and 4" x 1-3/4" Dapper Denim pieces. Add Dapper Denim then Whisper White waves to the top of the 3-3/4" x 6" Marina Mist Designer Paper. Trim away any designer paper that is sticking out beyond the top most wave. Lay against 3-3/4" x 11-1/2" Whisper White to use as a guide. Pull away when stamping splatter images using stamped-off Marina Mist ink.
Sponge top half edges of 3-3/4" x 11-1/2" Whisper White with Marina Mist ink. Add Silver ribbon to the top. Attach designer paper piece to the bottom half, and trim away any waves that go outside the edges. Then attach to the 4" x 11-3/4" Daffodil Delight piece.
Add the boat next. The bottom half of the boat is attached with SNAIL and tucked under a wave. The top half is attached with a Dimensional.
Assemble the pages: The sun, sailboat panel and Marina Mist photo mats are attached with SNAIL. The "celebrate" is attached with Dimensionals. The silver waves are attached with Multipurpose Glue.
I took these photos to help show a few of the steps.
By the way, I highly recommend the new Big Shot platform with the Precision Plate when die-cutting more intricate dies. And that Big Shot brush is wonderful at removing all those little pieces!

My friend, Karen Acevedo made this fabulous collection of note cards with matching holder using the new 2016-18 In Color Patterned Paper, matching ink pads and cardstock, and the Swirly Bird Bundle (see all supplies listed below). She based the idea off of the note card sets I recently shared on my blog on May 5th and on May 24th. I'm so excited she let me photograph them so I could share them with all of you today!
I don't have measurements for all her card pieces. But hopefully these photos, the list of products below, and the directions, visuals and tips I shared for my note card sets on May 5th and on May 24th can help you to recreate these if you wish.
On Saturday I'll be sharing several more ideas that I created with the June Paper Pumpkin kit. I know! I just can't stop. It was a super fun it. Hope you come back to visit! Here is a peek…

Welcome to another Mediterranean (Grand Vacation) Achievers Blog Hop! The theme for this month is: 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek. So follow along and check out all the other blogs in the hop (click on the names of other blog participants in the list below) so you can see a great collection of hand-stamped cards and paper crafting projects that show off new products that will be available June 1st in the new 2016-17 Annual Catalog. Oh, the creativity you will see as you hop from blog to blog! Have fun.
One of the great benefits of being a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator is being able to get products and catalogs early. I attended OnStage Live in Salt Lake City in mid-April, so I've been able to play around with lots of new goodies that we received and were able to purchase at that event. And since May 3rd ALL demonstrators have been able to order additional sneak peek products. So I got my hands on the new Swirly Bird stamp set and coordinating Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies. This is already one of my favorite bundles in the new catalog! You'll find out why soon as more and more share these products and how versatile these images and dies are!
Today I am sharing my swap card that I am bringing with me on the cruise.
YES! THE CRUISE!
It is finally here! All of us who are in this blog hop will soon be experiencing our Mediterranean Grand Vacation (our cruise!) that we earned through Stampin' Up! And we have our customers, hosts and hostesses, blog followers, team members, fellow demonstrators, Stampin' Up! staff and our supportive friends and family to thank!
So…THANK YOU so much!
Here are the supplies I used to create this card – new stamps, new dies, new color!…
Shimmery White cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (folded in half), 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" and 1-1/4" x 4-1/4" (punched at one end with the Banner Triple punch)
Peekaboo Peach cardstock: 3-5/8" x 4-7/8"
Silver Foil sheet: 3" x 3" die cut with the large swirl from the Swirly Scribbles dies
Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon: about 4"
I shared this card yesterday in my Periscope broadcast. So if you view this video, you will get tips and tricks for putting this card together as shown.
And here are a few more close up photos. I love how that Shimmery White cardstock adds just the right amount of sparkle. In fact, that reflection coming off the cardstock and the Silver Foil paper made it difficult to photograph this card and make the rest of the card bright. LOL
I also played around and made birthday version of this card using the Whisper White cardstock and words from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
Thanks for checking out my blog today. Have fun on the hop. And remember to stamp your art out! 🙂
