I loved the Slice of Happiness stamp set right away when I saw it. So I got it in my first order that I placed when the 2019-20 Annual Catalog went live in June. But then it sat on my shelf, because I wasn’t quite sure how I would turn the gray images I saw in the catalog to the colorful fruit images I imagined.

Slice of Happiness Stamp Set. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Thankfully these images are “distinkive,” so they have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension with a single impression. And this plays with the ink to also give a depth (or multiple shades) of color when you stamp. I had no problem once I got over my apprehension to just start trying out my inks. It was fun!

These are the cards I made. And I am so pleased that a stamp set that I thought would be complicated to work with turned out to be one of the easiest AND give me such beautiful and artistic results.

I’ve made three coordinating notecards with the Slice of Happiness stamp set. Here are the measurements & directions if you wish to recreate these cards yourself. And below are more close-up photos.

Measurements…

  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • Scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
    • 7″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 3-1/2″ and folded in half for the card base (OR just use the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes)
  • Silver Metallic Thread
    • About 7-8″

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Directions…

  • Stamp sentiment on scrap cardstock, then punch it out.
  • Coat the back with SNAIL Adhesive, then add Silver Metallic Thread to the back so that it creates uneven loops that peek out the upper left and lower right. For the pomegranate and grapes cards secure the thread by placing a few Dimensionals on the back side of the label. Set aside.
  • Stamp the fruit image:
    • Stamp the pomegranate in Real Red ink.
    • Stamp the kiwi in Pear Pizzazz ink. Then add dots for seeds with the Basic Black Marker.
    • Use daubers to apply ink to the red rubber of the grapes image. Daub Pear Pizzazz ink on the leaves and stems. Daub Rich Razzleberry ink on the grapes. Remoisten by exhaling on the inked stamp, then stamp the image on the card.
  • Add the sentiment label to the card. Trim off excess if needed as in the layout for the kiwi card.
  • Embellish with Rhinestones or Epoxy Droplets.

Come see what I share on my blog… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Last night was the Boy Scout Court of Honor ceremony for Nick and Luke and his two cousins, Robbie and Jake (not pictured). We are so proud of these kiddos! (Those of you following my blog can see that Luke is healing well from his surgery.)

We were all asked to bring a dessert to share. There were lots of cakes, brownies, bars, and sweet treats. But guess what this gluten-free, food-sensitive mom contributed? A big bowl of fruit! Yep… ??? I’m a fruit fan.
