If you are a fan of shaker cards, then you will LOVE the flat, tulle shaker cards I am sharing today! Yes, they are flat! No need for special envelopes or extra postage when mailing them. And instead of using window sheets or acetate sheets, I use two layers of tulle.
Tulle is a soft mesh-like material found in craft and fabric stores. It has air holes and is slippery so the sequins that shake between the two layers move with ease.
My cards feature the Climbing Orchid stamp set, Orchid Builder Framelits, and the 2017-19 In Colors (papers and inks) that will be retiring soon.

Rather than writing out all the details & directions for this card design, I shared that information in this Facebook Live broadcast. Then I uploaded the recorded version of this video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the measurements and products list below (for the card I demonstrated), scroll through the close-up photos of all three versions of this card, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed this video! Here are the measurements you’ll need if you plan to recreate the card I demonstrated in the video.
Measurements…
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- 11” x 4-1/4” scored at 5-1/2” and folded in half

Products I used… See below for a list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Here are close-up photos of the Powder Pink card I demonstrated.

And below are photos of my other two. This was one was one I started to make (using the Lemon Lime Twist designer paper) and finished afterwards.

And this is the Berry Burst one that I showed and talked about at the end of the video.

I also showed off this card that I posted (with its measurements and products list) on my blog on March 27.

Shaker cards are fun to make, give and receive. And now that you know how easy they can be to put together with tulle, I hope you’ll give this kind a try.
