#APaperPumpkinThing
Yippee! Today is the day where a creative team of us Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators bring to you our special “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop. See what I have to share, then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the June 2018 “Broadway Star” Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop, simply scroll down and click on the names of other participants in the hop to see other creative projects.
This month’s kit is very loud, vibrant and filled with celebration. Click here to see the June kit video put out by Stampin’ Up! where you can view how to make these cards as intended.
I love that there is a whole suite of products in the 2018-19 Annual Catalog that was made to coordinate with this month’s kit. So I decided to create a gift bag and matching tag. I used the coordinating Broadway Bound designer paper, a couple other products from this coordinating suite, and pieces that would be left over if a person made all the cards in this Paper Pumpkin kit as is. A special thanks to Samantha Clayton at Mixed Up Craft for the inspiration for my bag.
First watch my how-to video, then scroll down to see the scoring & cutting measurements patterns, close-up photos, special links, and a list of products/supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
This is a project that was easier to explain in a video, but hopefully these images below with measurements are helpful to any of you wanting to print something off.
I was blessed to be invited to contribute project ideas for Stampin’ Up!’s Facebook Live broadcast that aired this past Tuesday evening. So this is the bag & tag combo I sent to them to share.
Measurements (ribbon and tag):
- Black Satin Ribbon: about 17″
- Basic Black Cardstock: 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ scored and folded in half at 2-1/8″
- Lovely Lipstick Cardstock: 2″ x 2-5/8″
And here are a few more…photos of the bag I made in the video.

Rachel, as usual you amaze me with your alternates for paper pumpkin. Thanks
How sweet of you to say, Anita! thanks so much. I’m so happy you enjoy what I share.
Great alternate project. Thank you for the detailed instructions complete with the templates & measurements.
Thanks Candy! And so nice of you to take the time to leave me your kind comment. 🙂
The bags a beautiful. Thanks for the instruction video too. And your nails coordinate!
Hehehe! I love it when people notice the nails. I try to do that with most of the PP kits. Thanks for liking and commenting on my PP Thing Hop share. The bags were fun to make. I even made more afterwards with other papers. I couldn’t stop. 😉
Great hint on the handle!!
Thanks Denise. Glad you liked it.
