BOBBY AND MICALA GOT MARRIED!!
This weekend my brother got married to my children's new auntie! It was a fun and festive weekend. This is the wedding that I made the Save the Date cards and wedding invites for (see close up photos of those at the bottom of this post.)
They got married at the resort close to my parents' place. The weather was ideal and everything was beautiful (the decor, the ceremony, the accomodations, the food, the friends and family that came, and of course the bride!).
My mom and dad helped out in so many ways, so this blog post is not only to share with you photos of the cards I made with Stampin' Up!® products and to show off my brother and my new sister-in-law, but to brag about just a couple of the things that my Mom and Dad did creatively to make things more elegant.
So… on top of basically being the "wedding coordinator", sewing vests for the grandsons formal wear, making maps, helping with the invitations, thinking of and taking care of all those small details most of us tend not to even consider, hosting many meals, keeping us on schedule, etc… my mom made the cake!! And that is something you can't do ahead of time.
She may be a little upset with me for posting these photos because the cream cheese frosting didn't stay firm long outside the fridge, but I think it's a beautiful cake. And you gotta love Micala and Bob's "woodsy" cake topper!
The frosting pattern was fashioned after the bride's dress pattern.
This is my talented Mom, Margo.
And it was DEE-licious!
My dad rocked his talents as well. He helped to host many meals, moved several chairs, tables, dishes, and décor before and after the ceremy and reception, made a gorgeous backdrop of lighted trees, made everyone feel at home, is building Bob and Micala an island for their kitchen as a wedding gift, AND he made these beautiful slabs of birch that sat under each centerpiece at the reception tables and under the wedding cake.
The boys (Luke, cousin Robbie, Nicholas, cousin Jake and cousin Joe) are patiently waiting for dinner. See the centerpiece?
Here's my talented Dad, Bob.
(My uncle Bill, Dad's brother also pitched in his talents and hard work. So it was like there were
two of my dad. Bill made the bar, frames for some signs, and even mowed the areas for people to park.)
It was a wonderful weekend. My heart is happy!
Here's to you, Bob and Micala!
Here are some close-ups of the wedding invites and Save the Date cards.
