The rest of my December 2016 "Another Great Year" Paper Pumpkin kit projects are finished and ready to share with you! I used almost two full kits to make the ones I shared on Saturday, my contribution to the exclusives (that I can only share with my subscribers), the items I demonstrated in this second video…
- two note cards
- a shaker card
- and two candy boxes
…and the photo pages (two 12×12 page spreads and a double-sided Project Life page) at the bottom of this post that aren't in the video. Watch the video first to get tips, measurements and directions. Then scroll down to see close-up photos of these projects, a list of extra supplies I used to make them, the extra projects not in the video and a list of the additional extra supplies I used to make them.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate projects that I created from this kit that I shared in this video.
TWO NOTE CARDS (plus another that I made off camera with some leftover supplies that I didn't use in the first video)
SHAKER CARD
It's so fun to shake these cards and see where the sequins go.
TWO HERSHEY'S NUGGET CANDY BOXES
Product List… extra things you might need/want in addition to the December 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit to make any or all of the above projects.
- stapler
- tissue
- Hershey's Nugget chocolate candies
I kept going and created photo pages, but these aren't in the videos.
Since I gave my personal subscribers some fun items to use, I thought I would use a few in my first set of 12×12 pages…a sampling of enamel shapes, a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" coordinating cardstock (here I used Real Red), a piece of 4" x 4" Silver Foil paper and a die-cut dragonfly.
12×12 DRAGONFLY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
I loved how the printing on the window sheet reflected on the silver foil paper when raised just ever so slightly away from the surface.
I put together the dragonfly window the same way I put together the shaker card just without the sequins. (Check out the video for tips and directions.) These pieces are each 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". And I trimmed 1/4" in on all four sides.
To attach the dragonfly, I used a tip that I recently gained from my friend and upline, Susan Campfield. I sponged the Tombow Multipurpose glue on the back side! This was one of those "duh, why didn't I think of that?!" moments. Such a smart (and simple!) idea.
I attached the 4-1/2" x 3-3/4" title piece with strategically placed glue dots. This photo is the best I could get, so I circled where I put the 4 glue dots.
I thought it would be helpful to share the measurements of a few other pieces as well. These are the layers underneath the photo mats. Sorry I didn't make a tutorial video for the rest of these projects, but my computer was acting up this month. (I think I need to get a new laptop soon.) Hopefully you can figure out the rest of the measurements based on the pieces surrounding them. I took these photos before adding the final embellishments to the layout.
(Can you see me in the reflection?! LOL…that's the hardest thing about photographing window sheets.)
The elements along the bottom of the pages are just scraps. Most are 1/2" wide, but a few are 3/4" wide.
For those who aren't my personal paper pumpkin subscribers (or for those that already used their gift pieces up), here is another version of this layout using pieces from the kit and punched butterflies instead of die-cut dragonflies.
12×12 BUTTERFLY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT
I made my own yellow and white striped cardstock strips by covering the backside of the journaling stickers in the kit with the washi tape. (I didn't have any paper left from the kit that was just white, so I had to get clever. LOL) Had I just stuck the tape down onto the black cardstock, the transparency of the tape would've made it disappear. Having it attached to white paper brings out the true Crushed Curry color.
The measurements are the same for this set of pages except for the frame around the window. Instead of needing the Crushed Curry cardstock on hand and making a 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" frame, I used the stickers in the kit and cut a 4-1/8" x 4-1/8" frame that was a little over 1/8" thick on all four sides. This made it a little tricky, but the adhesive strips still fit behind underneath the frame. Phew!
And instead of the Enamel Shapes, I used rhinestones. Can you see the butterfly wings are raised a bit, too?! 🙂
The last project is my…
DOUBLE-SIDED PROJECT LIFE LAYOUT
The pockets are all either 4" x 4" or 4" x 6". Thus the cardstock and window sheets that are inside are cut to those sizes. This middle piece has a yellow heart on each side because I just put them back to back.
A fun thing about window sheets and Project Life page layouts…you can put the window sheets OVER photos. So that is an option for those of you who still have window sheets left from your kit.
Product List… additional extra things you might need/want to make the 12×12 scrapbook pages and/or the Project Life pages
