It’s time to rock & roll!

My 9-year-old niece stopped by this weekend to drop off our Girl Scout cookies we had ordered. She loves the band Blackpink and was dressed in a sweatshirt with their name. And so even though her birthday isn’t until August, I had her in mind when I created today’s card.
I knew I wanted to feature the guitar. But I also really wanted a large vinyl record in the background. Stampin’ Up! doesn’t sell smooth circle dies that are this large. But I figured it out. And it just took a bit of fussy cutting.
I added pinks for the accent colors, but this card can be altered for someone YOU have in mind simply by switching out the inks. (You’ll see examples of that in the video AND in the photos below.)
A few hours ago I shared live on YouTube and on Facebook step-by-step directions for creating this fun “vinyl & strings” birthday card with the Rock & Roll Suite of other coordinating Stampin’ Up! products. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. - Basic Black Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 11” scored parallel to the short at 4-1/4”
- Scrap that measures 4-1/2” x 4-1/2”
- Basic White Cardstock
- Scrap for stamping and die-cutting guitar
- Scrap for stamping and cutting out rock star sentiment
- 2” diameter circle
- Holographic Foil Paper
- (4) 1/2” x 5-1/2”
- Scrap for die-cutting stars

Here are photos! This is the original…the one I made before my demonstration.
This is the one I created during the demonstration. You can see the top of the vinyl record on this one only extends to the edge of the designer paper to show off more of the holographic foil.
And the guitars are different. The card I demonstrated features pink rhinestones and a white highlight.
These are the other two versions of this card showing off purples and yellows instead of pinks. The ink I used for these are listed below the main supply list.
Can you see the shimmer on the pick guard (the dark center face of the guitar) and record label?
And this is what the inside of the card looks like on my first one. It’s a fun designer paper print!
