Welcome to our PPX monthly blog hop! Today I have my blog post linked to posts from those in my Paper Pumpkin Exclusives Video Crew so we could all share a few more projects that we put together with some of our leftovers from the May 2022 Celebrating In Color kit. See what I have to share. Then scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas with this Paper Pumpkin kit. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
I put together Independence Day (4th of July) scrapbook pages! These new 2022-24 In Colors (contained in this kit) are perfect for a red, white, and blue themed project. And since my family loves to celebrate this holiday up at the cabin every summer, I’m now ready to record this year’s festivities by just adding in photos and journaling to this 12×12 spread.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
- Basic Black Cardstock
- Two pieces of 12×12 Cardstock (Yep! It’s coming back!! You’ll be able to purchase this again starting July 1, 2022.)
- Plain white card base pieces from the kit
- Four that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
- Two that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
- 5-1/2″ x 5-3/4″
- Banner printed white card base from the kit
- 5-1/2″ x 5-3/4″
- Envelopes from the kit (all but the Parakeet Party green)
- Four that are 4-3/4″ x 5-1/8″
- Sweet Sorbet red “you” card layer from the kit
- Punch a bunch of stars from this
Tips…
Use the H from HAPPY, the T and H in BEST WISHES, and another HAPPY for the HAPPY 4TH title.
To turn the H into 4, cut as shown. No need to use “white out” like I originally thought I needed to do. Instead just transfer the small piece from the bottom of the H to the middle to finish off the gold line.
I initially added the envelope paper like this, but then I trimmed them down to 4-3/4″ x 5-1/8″ (just under the envelope glue) and embossed them (with the speckle stamp and gold emboss powder) before attaching.
I used two of the plain white card bases to make the four largest white photo mats. I used the section cut from the foil printed card base to get the smaller square photo mats. And I used a portion of the white card base with a curved edge for the 5-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ photo mat on the right. Remember to emboss the speckles before adding the layers to the pages.
Add the Tahitian Tide blue banner with Seal adhesive along the back of the top and Dimensionals along the back of the bottom. Color the insides of the letters with Starry Sky Blends markers and add with Dimensionals to the Tahitian Tide blue banner.
Punch out a bunch of stars from the Sweet Sorbet red “you” card layer. And add them here and there with the Festive Pearls and embellishments from the kit.
