Today is the last day to sign up (or have an active subscription) for Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this next kit title The Adventure Begins.
So I thought I’d share a couple more projects that I put together with some of my leftovers from last month’s Expressions in Color kit.
I first made this Pinwheel Tower card using only three extra products… I added in Basic White & Fresh Freesia Cardstock although I could’ve used more card base pieces from the kit. And I also brought in Blackberry Bliss Ink even though I could’ve used an ink from the kit. So this card IS doable with what comes in the kit.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
- Basic White Cardstock
- Four pieces… 2-3/4” x 4-1/4”
- 4-1/4” x 4-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 1”, 2”, 3” & 4”
- Expressions in Color pink/purple card base from the kit
- Two pieces… 2-1/2” x 4”
- Fresh Freesia Cardstock
- Two pieces… 2-1/2” x 4”
Tips…
- Follow directions in my how-to video for creating the base of this Pinwheel Tower Card (start around the 12:20 minute mark).
- Ink up only the word “sending,” then stamp it on a small white banner towards the right. Clean off the stamp. Then ink up only the word “hugs” and stamp it on another small white banner towards the right.
- Cut one of the vellum floral pieces in the kit in half and then in one of those halves in half again to get two pieces with a nice 90 degree corner on them. First adhere the stamped white banner piece to the vellum flower, then put more glue dots under that area and add the vellum flower to the Fresh Freesia Cardstock layers.
- Cut one of the sequins in half before adding to the two white panels of the card.
The card flattened out (on any of the four sides) will fit into a medium A2 size envelope. Yay! Here are the ways I decorated all four sides of my card.
Two days ago after looking back on the fun my family had at the cabin this past weekend, I created this scrapbook page layout. We celebrated Independence Day also known simply as the 4th of July. So I cut apart and reworked the letters on the vellum words from the kit to get my page title. Hahaha! You can’t really see my “piecing together” areas unless you look super close.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
- Pacific Point Cardstock (from the Brights 12×12 Cardstock pack)
- Two pieces that are 12″ x 12″
- Basic White Cardstock (from the 12×12 pack)
- Two pieces that are 3-1/2″ x 12″
- Two pieces that are 1″ x 12″
- Early Espresso Cardstock (optional for photo mats)
- Four pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
- Three pieces that are 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″
Tips…
- Use 1-1/2 pieces of vellum floral pieces from the kit. If you made the card above, you can use that leftover half and then another one cut in half.
- Cut all cardstock pieces to size and then cut the vellum words as shown to get the “july” and the “th.” (These can be adhered with sponged on Multipurpose Glue.) The first photo shows where I cut for three of the words. The second photo shows the parts of those words that you need to keep. And the third photo shows those parts turned and repositioned to form the title.
- Form the number 4, glue the small banners in place and allow to dry. This will be adhered with Dimensionals that have been cut in half.
- Follow the directions in this how-to video for creating the base pieces (start around the 25:00 minute mark).

Here are a few photos from our fun at the cabin last weekend. Everyone on my side of the family was there except the oldest cousin, Joe (who just graduated from college and is living and working a whole state away – we miss him) and his dad, Don (my sister’s husband).
Waffles with all the toppings for breakfast are a tradition.
This is my oldest, Nick coming back from a paddle around the island where one can see a mama loon and her nest.
This is my youngest Luke after battling his brother and cousins with the water shooters. Fun times!
Hoping those of you in the US also enjoyed your holiday weekend in some way. Thanks for stopping by.

Product List…things you might need/want in addition to the June 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit to make these projects (I listed the kit refill below because at the time I created this post, the kit was still available….just an option for anyone who missed out on getting the full kit with the ink and stamps. I also listed the Artistically Inked Stamp Set as an option for those that didn’t get the kit’s stamp set since there is a stamp image in there that will also “do the trick” for the bottom of the scrap pages.)
