When I was sharing my Sliding Lock Easter Card on Wednesday during my YouTube Live, I forgot to also show my other samples – two that I had made originally for a virtual team event and one that I received from a team member soon after. And since you can refer to that video from Wednesday (click here to see it along with photos and measurements from that demonstration), I’ll just share photos and a couple tips for my Flowering Cactus Medley cards here.

Here is the first sliding lock card I made (and shared with my team) after being inspired by what Chris Slogar shared in her December 17, 2020 blog post.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements (click here to help convert these to metric)
- Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 10-1/2” scored parallel to the short end at < 4-1/4” and 8-1/2”
- 2-1/4” Circle
- Basic White Thick Cardstock
- 4” x 5-1/4”
- Scrap for stamping and punching front sentiment
- Flowering Cactus Designer Paper
- 4” x 5-1/4”
- 1-3/4” x 5-1/4″ (marked at ¾” at the top and then cut diagonally)
- 3/4″ x 4″
- die-cut images (large cactus and three flower images)
And here is a slightly different version of that card.
Tips
- Die-cut the large cactus and flower images from the designer paper sheet to save time. If you run out of these, you CAN create more with the stamp images.
- When cutting the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of designer paper, check the back. You can get your inside 3/4″ x 4″ inside strip from this same sheet if you cut in the correct direction.
- Stamp, layer and die-cut your Basic White 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece before adding it to the inside.
