After I shared my color comparisons on April 10th on my Facebook page, on my blog, and on Youtube, I received a few more comparison requests. I didn’t have samples of many of the requested colors. But thankfully Karen A, a fellow stamper mentioned that she had many of the retired colors that was looking for. And I immediately took her up on her offer to help me out. I don’t recall exactly, but I know Karen was able to bring to me at least 23 MORE COLORS that I didn’t have in my stash. (Thanks again Karen!)

If you recall with the Color Revamp there are 18 colors leaving AND a new Basics Collection being formed (Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla). That means there is room for 21 additional colors when the new catalog starts up on June 1st. Those 21 additions are:

• 6 returning colors from past In Color Collections
• 5 completely new In Colors for the 2018-20 Collection
• and 10 completely new colors for the Core Color Groups

A FEW MORE COMPARISONS

Here are a few more requested comparisons for several of the completely new colors being added. (In these photos the new color is the one on the right in each photo.) Keep in mind that with photography & lighting the colors may be a little “off.” But these photos at least give you an idea on how the colors compare to each other even if certain ones aren’t as accurately shown in the photos.

Blueberry Bushel is pretty close to Brilliant Blue. But it’s a bit more earthy and warm than Brilliant Blue’s cooler hue.

Granny Apple Green also comes pretty close to Lucky Limeade but is brighter like a Spring tone than Lucky Limeade’s more dull, Autumn hue.

In my April 10th post, I had a mistake. So in this photo below I have Bliss Blue and Bashful Blue identified correctly. I also updated the photo in my April 10th post.

I’m still looking for 9 more retired cardstock colors:

• Buckaroo Blue

• Marvelous Magenta

RETIRING PRODUCTS UPDATE

The 2017-18 retiring products were announced on April 9th. As of 4/22/18 6:00 PM (Mountain Time) there are a few items that are already sold out/discontinued. So keep that in mind if you are hoping to purchase anything that will be retiring…things are starting to disappear.

SIMPLE NATURALLY ECLECTIC CARDS

Using the same idea I shared in my April 14th post – making the designer paper the main design element of your cards, here are some super simple cards that I created with a sentiment image from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set, the Naturally Eclectic Designer Paper & coordinating Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. (The ribbons and the designer paper are on the 2017-18 retiring products list.)

Measurements:

• Whisper White Thick cardstock:
  • 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2” scored at 4-1/4” and folded in half
  • Scrap for punching 2″ circle
• Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (Night of Navy, Emerald Envy or Peekaboo Peach):
  • 16″
• Coordinating colored cardstock (Night of Navy, Emerald Envy or Peekaboo Peach):
  • Scrap for punching starburst
• Naturally Eclectic designer paper:
  • 5-1/4″ x 4″

Directions:

• Attach designer paper to card front.
• Tie on ribbon.
• Stamp sentiment onto white scrap and punch with 2″ Circle Punch (use punch upside-down so you can see where you are punching). Attach to punched out Starburst shape. Then attach to the card front.
