Thailand Achiever’s Blog Hop May 2017: New Annual Catalog Sneak Peeks…#stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Welcome to another Thailand Achievers Blog Hop! The theme for this month is: New Annual Catalog Sneak Peeks! So follow along and check out all the other blogs in the hop (click on the names of other participants in the list below) so you can get some great peeks into new products becoming available on June 1 in the new 2017-18 Annual Catalog AND see a great collection of hand-stamped cards and paper crafting projects! Oh, the creativity you will see as you hop from blog to blog! Have fun.

My project to share today is a double z-fold card (3 versions of it!). I created it with the Daisy Delight bundle of products that you will find on p. 127 of the new catalog. If you have your copy you can turn to that page to see all the great products that are part of that Delightful Daisy Suite. The Gold Faceted Gem in the center of the flower is also part of that suite. And this designer paper is one of my MOST favorite packs ever!…the Wood Textures designer paper found on page 187. It comes in a pack of 6×6 sheets so I also played around with it and made an origami star box which I shared further down in the post.

If you don't have the new catalog, you can view it online come June 1st which is only 9 days away now!! Yippee!

(This card was a make-n-take project my Stampers With ART team made about a month ago for our after OnStage team event.)

I shared how to make a double z-fold card on my last Paper Pumpkin alternate projects video. You can CLICK HERE to view that video and see how to make a portrait/vertical double z-fold card (directions for it start run between the 16:50 minute mark and the 17:50 minute mark). Then apply those tips to these measurements for this landscape/horizontal double z-fold card.

Measurements:

  • Whisper White Thick Card Stock (base of card): 11" x 4-1/4" scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"
  • Whisper White Thick Card Stock (the front piece): 11" x 2-1/8" scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"
  • Pink Pirouette Card Stock: 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" scrap
  • Garden Green Card Stock: 3-1/2" x 2" scrap
  • Wood Textures Designer Paper: two pieces that are 2" x 2-1/2" each and one that is 2" x 5-1/4"

Here is a view from the top so you can see how the two Whisper White pieces connect and fold.

And here is a peek at how I added and concealed the stem of the green leaf piece. The supplies I used for all three of these cards are listed at the bottom and linked to my online store (if the link is active). Many of them though are not available for purchase until June 1st at noon Central Time. So unless you are a demonstrator, you'll need to be patient for about 9 more days.

In this version below I used Daffodil Delight for the flower ink and card stock, Very Vanilla for the neutral card base card stock, and a lighter warmer wood pattern from the Wood Textures paper pack.

And in this third version I used Sweet Sugarplum for the flower ink and card stock, Whisper White for the neutral card base card stock, and a very pale wood pattern from the Wood Textures paper pack.

Then for fun (and because I am a fan of origami), I took a piece of this 6" x 6" designer paper and put together this star box. hehehe

I curled the ends a bit to make them look like petals instead of points on a star.
