Halloween is a favorite in our house. I have two boys (ages 9 and 10) who love dressing up and going out Trick-or-Treating. As mom of the house, a former elementary ed. teacher and someone who enjoys performing, I too love putting on costumes and pretending to be someone or something else. Plus, it's super fun to make and give Halloween treats using paper-crafting products. Right? But I think my husband is the biggest fan. He dreams of turning our house and yard into a prize-winning showcase where people can walk through some elaborate "haunted" maze. And he loves it when I start creating Halloween treats and cards with my Stampin' Up! products. In fact I've hung onto several retired Stampin' Up! Halloween stamp sets (until this year) per his request. And he doesn't even stamp!

Here is a fun card that I created with a few of the new Halloween-themed Holiday Catalog products.

It's an easel card. 🙂

The layer on the inside is propped up on Dimensionals so that it sticks up a bit and can hold the "easel" part of the card in place.

It takes a little extra cardstock to make this card "work," but it's a fun way to turn a card into a showpiece.

Measurements:

  • Basic Black cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4" scored from one end at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" & a scrap piece for punching out a 1-3/4" circle
  • Old Olive cardstock: 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" & a scrap piece for punching out a 2" circle
  • Peekaboo Peach cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4"
  • Tangerine Tango cardstock: 2-1/2" x 4" & a scrap piece for punching out a 2" circle
  • Pumpkin Pie cardstock: a scrap piece for punching out a 1-3/4" circle
  • Whisper White cardstock: a scrap piece for punching out two 1-3/4" circles and two 1-1/2" circles
  • Halloween Night Specialty Designer paper (black polka-dot design): 4" x 3"
  • Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon: about 5-1/2" inches

Tips:

  • Be sure to stamp and THEN punch out images for the Whisper White circles.
  • Attach the white circles to the colored cardstock circles AFTER coloring in the images. Color the eyeballs and the slime using a Blender Pen. For the slime start from the left side and work your way inward. Then start again from the right side and work your way inward to get that dark-light effect.
  • Attach the Old Olive 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" layer to the front of the black card base so that the adhesive is just on the bottom half. This allows your easel card to open up properly.
  • After adding the strip of washi tape, attach the 2-1/2" x 4" Tangerine Tango piece to the inside of the card using a Dimensional under each corner.
  • Attach the designer paper to the 5-1/4" x 4" Peekaboo Peach piece, then attach the Peekaboo Peach ribbon by wrapping it from the front to the back. Secure the ends of the ribbon on the back side of the  Peekaboo Peach cardstock. Then attach to the 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" Old Olive piece.
  • The slime circle layer is attached with Dimensionals. The spider circle layer is a bit higher though because it is attached with two thicknesses of Dimensionals.
  • Color a couple pearls with a black Sharpie® marker. And then add to the card.
