My mom and dad have such beautiful views from the windows of their cabin home. And I am so grateful that we are able to share such beauty with our children. This is what we see from the living room window on this sunny August morning.
Even the dining room view is fantastic…just forest wherever you look.
How awesome to be able to eat Grandma and Grandpa's waffles while looking at this, right?!
Just this morning Nicholas (wearing the blue shirt who by the way feels MUCH better today) asked why I don't make these kind of waffles at home. And to tell you the truth, I purposely don't want a waffle maker to do such an fun meal because I want my boys to equate this yummy memory with the cabin. They eat this for breakfast practically EVERY morning we are here.
This card reminds me of the north woods, so I thought I'd share it today. It's one of the cards I made to swap at Convention.
My measurements:
- Thick Whisper White card stock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2” scored in half at 4-1/4” and ~2" x ~2" scrap)
- Tip Top Taupe card stock (4” x 5-1/4”)
- Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series paper – Tip Top Taupe sheet (3” x 4”)
- Garden Green card stock (~3" x ~3" scrap)
- Wild Wasabi card stock (~2" x ~2" scrap)
Tips:
- Sponge Early Espresso ink onto the designer paper piece and then use a tissue to wipe off any excess in that is on the glossy parts of the paper.
- Sponge Early Espresso ink onto the edges of the Tip Top Taupe card stock to get the burnt/aged look.
- After stamping and die-cutting the leaves, curl the leaves with a pencil, finger or bone folder.
- Create green rhinestones by coloring on them with a colored Sharpie marker.
Thanks for visiting today!

Rachel – How did you achieve the “striped” lower portion of your card? Is there an EF to ink for this?
Thanks for asking…That paper is the Color Me Irresistible paper (taupe colored sheet). I sponged a bit of Early Espresso ink on it. I’ll try to remember to revise my post. That was a great question. 🙂
Thank the good Lord Nicholas is alright! Us Mum’s just want to take the hurt and pain away from our babies however old they are, mine’s 36! All your work is stunning and this is no exception, you’re a master at your art!
You are sweet, Rachel. Thank you. Yes, it is SO hard to see our children hurt.
