Anyone still looking for graduation card ideas?!
Here's a fun fold that shows off a great way to use Stampin' Up!'s File Tabs Edgelits and the Bravo Photopolymer (totally clear) stamp set. And it's made from just one sheet of Basic Black 8-1/2" x 11" card stock!
Here's what this card looks like from a folded, closed position (3" x 5-1/2") showing flap 1… to a partially open position showing flap 2…
…to an almost open position showing flap 3 (a couple versions)…
…to a completely open position showing the message/greeting and the gift card/money pocket.
And this card is pretty easy to make! Here's how.
Start with a full sheet of Basic Black 8-1/2"x11" card stock. With the shorter edge perpendicular to the scoring blade of your trimmer, score in from one edge at 2-3/4" and at 5-1/2". This will create two sections that are 2-3/4" wide and one that is 3" wide. Then rotate your card stock so the longer edge is perpendicular. Score from one edge at 2-3/4". Flip your card stock around and score from the other edge at 2-3/4".
Remove all 4 outside corners cutting along those score lines. (These lines say "cut" in the photo above.) Then trim in a bit more off the two smaller flaps so that they will be easier to fold inside the card later.
Use the File Tab Edgelit on the 3" x 5-1/2" flap. (You will have to fold in the opposite flap to get your card to fit into the Big Shot to cut with the edgelit.)
Your other main card pieces should measure:
- Whisper White piece: 2-1/2" x 5-1/4"
- Back to Black Designer Series Paper piece: 2-3/8" x 4"
Then assemble!
Those extra pieces extend the left side flap a bit and hide the gift enclosed.
My team of demonstrators made this at our last event a few weeks ago. And my club members will be making this next week. Want to be a part of the hands-on fun?
