Welcome to our monthly APPT (A Paper Pumpkin Thing) blog hop where we showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the October 2022 Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin kit. I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on October 21st and 23rd.

Today I am sharing…
- Two cards that focus on just the stamps from this kit and very few additional supplies #simplestamping
And the designs of each were influenced by other cards that I’ve received recently. So I’ll share those as well.
The blue card in the background was a swap (also shared October 28th) from fellow demonstrator, Lori Callies. I loved the beauty she created with just inks, stamps, paper and a few pearls.
So I used the same measurements and masking technique…just different colors, stamps, and embellishments.

Measurements…
- Parakeet Party Cardstock
- 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
- Sweet Sorbet Cardstock
- 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″
- Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
- 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside layer)
I used large Post-It® Notes that I had in my stash, cut one to 1″ tall, and placed it across the middle of the small white layer. Placing marks on Grid Paper helped me make sure I had straight lines for my masking.
After stamping the snowflakes in Starry Sky (some stamped without reinking for that lighter color), I stamped the stars to fill in the spaces. Can you tell?…I cut my star stamp in two pieces so I could stamp a few single Parakeet Party stars and some pairs of stars in Sweet Sorbet ink. Then I filled in even more gaps by making dots with my Tahitian Tide Marker.
When all that stamping was done, I pulled my sticky note mask away and stamped “merry” in the middle off to the right. I layered this white cardstock onto the Sweet Sorbet piece with Seal Adhesive. Then I added this with Dimensionals onto the folded card base and embellished by adding small rhinestones to the centers of the darkest snowflakes.
On the inside white layer I added more words and one more snowflake with rhinestone.
My second idea came from a birthday card gifted to my son, Nick from my parents. I used the snowflake and star images with the 2021-23 In Color Opal Rounds to embellish the garlands on my card.

Measurements…
- Basic White Thick Cardstock
- 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
- Fresh Freesia Cardstock
- 3-3/4″ x 5″
My 8-1/2″ diameter Corelle® plate and a pencil were the simple tools I needed to lightly draw in my curved garland strands.
I stamped my snowflakes and then drew over the lines with my markers. I erased all my pencil lines, stamped my stars, and then filled in with the Opal Round embellishments.
I stamped my “ho ho ho” and “Tis the season…” sentiments and attached my inside layer. Super simple and super fun!
