I love the “sunshine” sentiment and images in the Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set. And I thought this set would wonderful to use at this time of year, so I made several of these cards and sent them out recently. Below are the details if you wish to recreate it.

- 2021-23 In Color Shimmer Vellum (Pale Papaya)

- Cork Specialty Paper
- 3/4″ x 4-1/4″
- Flirty Flamingo Metallic Ribbon
- 13″

Directions…
- After die-cutting and trimming all pieces to the correct sizes, stamp images onto the 1-1/2″ diameter Very Vanilla circle, the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla layer (inside layer of card), and on the bottom half of the Balmy Blue circle.
- Use the Balmy Blue circle as a guide (don’t adhere), and stamp the branch image a few times onto the front of the Early Espresso card base.
- Place 3 Dimensionals towards the center of the backside of the Balmy Blue circle. Then add the circle to the Early Espresso card base making sure the words are running parallel to the top and bottom edges of the card.
- Layer the Cork onto the Vellum so that 1/8″ of vellum shows through along the bottom. Layer this onto the Very Vanilla strip so that 1/8″ of Very Vanilla shows through along the bottom. Then layer this onto the scalloped lace ribbon so the design on the ribbon looks even on both ends. Trim off the excess ribbon and add to the front of the card.
- Attach this layered strip to the front of the car (as shown) using a Dimensional under the left end where it connects with the Early Espresso card base and Seal under the right end where it connects with the Balmy Blue circle.
- Wrap the Flirty Flamingo from the front to the inside of the card, and tie a knot to secure it. (Trim the ribbon ends.
- Color the wings of the two stamped dragonflies using the Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya Blends Markers.
- Lastly add the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla layer to the inside. Then close the card and add the small Very Vanilla circles.

We had some fabulous weather during this long holiday weekend and definitely made the most of it (the boys last hurrah before the new school year kicks off tomorrow). On Friday and Saturday, Nick and Luke enjoyed just hanging out with friends in the neighborhood. Saturday evening we pulled out the lawn games and enjoyed some time around the fire pit in the evening.
Sunday we made a day of it at the Minnesota State Fair tasting all kinds of new foods. My favorites were the Sota Sandwich at The Brim food stand (thanks to my friend Rachel Baumann for introducing me to it) and the Island Hopper – both foods that I first tried out when I was with Rachel and my sister Renee on August 26th when we went as chaperones for my son Nick’s marching band performance day. Tim’s favorite was a special green Mediterranean Lemonade. Luke’s favorite was the Deep-Fried Ravioli. And Nick’s favorites were the Cheese Curds and Frozen Grapes.
And today we rode the roller coasters and more high intensity thrill rides at the Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, MN. We were able to fit in 13 rides (10 different ones) in our 6 hours at the park: Corkscrew, Monster, High Roller, Renegade, Steel Venom (favorite of Tim’s and Nick’s), Extreme Swings, Wild Thing (favorite of mine and Luke’s), Power Tower, Delirious, and North Star.
We definitely made the most of these days filled with sunshine. Best wishes to all the teachers, students, and school staff out there for a great start to the new school year!!
