My sister, Renée and I are currently on the Stampin’ Up! Greek Isles Incentive Trip. And we are loving our vacation! We extended on the front end of the trip…flew in 5 days earlier and spent some time in Rome and Positano.
On July 3rd, a few hours after our plane landed in Rome, we took a Vespa tour. We rode on the back through the city of Rome while the drivers shared about the historical sites we saw along the way.

Fabrizio and Valerio (who took the above and below photos) were fabulous tour guides. And what fun riding on the backs of the Vespas! We saw the Colosseum, the Roman Forum…

…the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, a small church where more of Michelangelo’s work can be found, the Forum, many Roman obelisks, the Orange Garden, and more. It was a wonderful way to tour the city because we could go on back pedestrian alleys that you wouldn’t see by car.

One of those streets was where Otaleg was located, voted best gelato in 2018! And it really was wonderful.

Our hotel that night had a beautiful view of the Colosseum from the roof top.

On July 4th we traveled by train to Naples, then hired a private driver to bring us to Positano where we stayed in an Airbnb for the next couple nights.

This is the front door to the terrace of our Airbnb. It was small but had a lot of character.

We ate our first meal (lunch that day) just down the road at Costantino’s. What a beautiful view from our table.

Afterwards we took the many stairs down to the City Center/main beach. Renee counted almost 900! Phew! But so worth it to see how the buildings are all stacked on top and entwined together. Needless to say, we have stronger calves after taking this path down two days in a row. (Yep, we did it again the next day.) Thankfully we were able to ride a bus to get back each time which dropped us off right at our door.

This is a view from the beach looking up towards the stacked buildings.

Once we made it down and caught our breath, we went shopping and put our feet in the water. Then we ate at Lo Guarracino La Pizza which was tucked away and near another beach. It had the best food and a great view too!

This was the view from our Airbnb that evening as the sun was going down.

On July 5th we got up early, made it down those 900 steps, and made it to the 9 AM ferry which took us over to the island of Capri for the day. On the way we passed these well-known islands: the Gallos also known as Sirenusas. (In Greek mythology, several sirens were said to have inhabited these islands.)

When we arrived we went onto another boat to tour around the island of Capri. It was fun to pass through this arch and see many of the fancy yachts said to be owned by celebrities. Of course, we all took pictures and tried to guess who was on each one.

But the highlight of this adventure was going to see the Blue Grotto. Small row boats came to our larger boat and took groups of 3-5 people at a time into this cave. To get into the cave, passengers had to lie down in the boat. Then the guide brought the boat in by pulling on a chain as the water went down with the waves.

Once inside the water was amazing!!! Such a beautiful blue as you can see in the photo below.

After the boat tour, we took the Funicular (the tram) up to the historic center of Capri, ate a late lunch, and enjoyed the beautiful view.

July 6th was a day of travel. After checking out of our Airbnb, we went back to Rome via a driver to Naples and a train ride from Naples to Rome. By the time we were done with our taxi ride from the train station to the Sheraton Roma hotel, we were ready to put our feet up. And so we enjoyed Aperol Spritz drinks down by the pool and enjoyed the company of fellow demonstrators, Linda Bauwin, Sherrie Robinson, Laura Barto, Jenni Pauli, her daughter, Melissa, Margriet Tournier and her husband, Frank.
And July 7th, yesterday was officially the first day of the “incentive trip” portion of our travels. We were shuttled from the hotel to the cruise terminal and boarded the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas. I’ll have more photos of the Stampin’ Up! portion of the trip to share when we return as I haven’t had time to load them from our cameras yet.
I can’t wait to show you how much we get spoiled!
