Today I am excited to share how to make this fun Diagonal Tuck Explosion Card using images from the retiring Color Me Happy Stamp Set, Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers, and Painted With Love Designer Series Paper. (Retiring products are starting to sell out, so be sure to order any items that are retiring that you need sooner than later.)
I shared this fun-fold card last Wednesday during my Facebook Live Paper Crafting Class.
And then I uploaded the recording to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch this video, check out the measurements and product list below so that you can recreate this celebratory card, and then let me know if you have any questions.
Here are the measurements you’ll need if you plan to recreate this fun card. And below that are the products I used.
Measurements:
- Calypso Coral Card Stock:
- 4-1/4” x 11” scored in at 4-1/4” at one end and 1-1/2” at the other then cut diagonally in the 4-1/4” x 4-1/4” section
- Whisper White Card Stock:
- 5/8” x 2-1/2”
- Calypso Coral Ombré Ribbon:
- 14-15”
- Copy Paper:
- 7-1/2” x 7-1/2”
- Painted With Love Designer Paper:
- 3-3/4” x 3-3/4″
Product List:

Which reminds me! I already shared Luke’s Valentines (on February 11th) that he made with this Painted With Love designer paper, but I forgot to share Nick’s! I had promised to, and I must’ve forgotten. Valentine’s Day is long past now, but you can always grab up this paper before it retires and use this super simple idea for next year.
Here is another version of the Diagonal Tuck Explosion Card that I made – my favorite!
I used the Petal Passion designer paper. And though it took some time to color this, I found it relaxing to do during a stressful week.
The measurements are similar to the first card, but the products are different. I mention this tip in the video, too. But stamping on copy paper (like with the first card) keeps your card thin enough to mail with standard postage. Designer paper can add more pizzazz, but it will also add a bit of thickness.

I hope you enjoyed the project ideas I had to share today. If you ARE on Facebook, I invite you to “like” then “follow” my page so you can get updates when I share and when I go live every Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM Central Time.
This Wednesday will be a bit different though. I’m taking the week off. My oldest son, Nick is having surgery tomorrow. He broke his patella bone on April 22nd when he lost his grip and took a hard fall on our garage floor. He’s a strong kiddo. But this week I’ll be focusing on taking care of him while he stays home from school to recover.
Here are a few photos we’ve been snapping this week.
He’s loving the extra attention, but he gets pretty sad when he hears the kids in the neighborhood outside playing. So there are some emotional ups and downs for him.
He’s in good spirits for the surgery, but please send your prayers and well wishes our way tomorrow morning.
