I love that new Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Make a Medallion. This is a card I made with it recently.
In fact I was so excited about this card design that I made several and sent them off to a few members in my Stampers With ART group as welcome and congrats cards. Because this card used a touch of the new Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper, I made some that were all Bermuda Bay and some that were all Mint Macaron.
Photos of the Bermuda Bay version are below, but I'm kicking myself for not taking photos of the Mint Macaron version before I sent my cards off in the mail.
If you wish to recreate this card, make sure you have the products listed below. Here are the measurements and directions.
Measurements:
- Basic Black Cardstock: 4-1/4" x 11" folded in half for card base and scrap for die-cutting scalloped circle (3rd largest in the die collection – 2-1/2" in diameter) and scrap for 1-3/8" circle
- Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock: 4" x 2" and 4" x 5-1/4" for the inside of the card
- Whisper White Cardstock: scrap for die-cutting large 2-3/8" circle and scrap for 1-1/4" circle.
- Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper: scrap for 1-1/2" circle.
Tips/Directions:
- Stamp two medallion images in Basic Black ink as shown & die-cut only one of them.
- Stamp the remaining medallion image on both using the Sweet Sugarplum ink.
- Stamp the sentiment (word) in the middle of the one that wasn't die-cut. Then punch just the center portion of this medallion image using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.
- Punch a 1-3/8" circle from the Basic Black and a 1-1/2" circle from the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper.
- Die-cut the Basic Black scallop circle.
- Assemble most of the medallion using Fast Fuse.
- To attach the smaller section to the glimmer paper, use Glue Dots. (The Glue Dots will do a better job at holding onto the glimmer paper than the Fast Fuse.)
- Attach the medallion to the 2" x 4" Sweet Sugarplum piece so it is centered top to bottom but off the right slightly. Grid Paper is helpful for this. You can see in the image below that I have about 1/4" of the medallion above and below the top of the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.
- Attach the doily behind so it shows up above and below the medallion.
- Attach this to the card front and add the inside Sweet Sugarplum layer.
Here is the Bermuda Bay version.
The word "Celebrate" came from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.
I need to also share with you two cards that a couple people in my Stampers With ART group designed based on the make-n-take supplies I sent them for our last online team event. (You may recall me sharing about this event back on February 25th. Click here to see that post and the make-n-take project.)
This card was designed by Nora Marin.
And this one was designed by Karen Stone.
I feel so blessed that they shared their talent with me so I could share it with all of you!
