I played around with my scraps again the other day and I created this card with a couple pieces I found. If you click here and play "I Spy" with the first photo, you'll see these two pieces that I'm talking about just lying in the pile. Hahaha
I have to warn you though, the "yay" piece is from a die set that is no longer available. So in the supply list at the bottom, I put in a set of dies with a couple words that might work in this card design.
Measurements:
- Basic Gray Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" folded in half to create the square card base
- Pool Party Cardstock: 7/8" x 4-1/4"
- Basic Black Cardstock: 2-7/8" x 1-7/8"
- Whisper White Cardstock: 2-3/4" x 1-3/4" and 4" x 4" for the inside layer
- Silver Glimmer Paper: scrap
- Silver 1/8" Ribbon: ~ 14"
Tips/Directions:
- Stamp the splatter image in pool party a couple times on the Whisper White piece. Then sponge on a bit of pool party ink here and there…use your sponge in a circular motion (just a light amount of ink needs to be on the sponge).
- Stamp the dragonfly image a couple times with Basic Black ink.
- Die-cut the word image from the glimmer paper scrap. Then use your fingernail to separate/remove the back layer. Why? Well, then I do this my glimmer paper is more flexible AND I can add my adhesive a bit better. That back layer is slippery.
- Add the strip of Pool Party cardstock to the front of the card.
- Wrap around and tie the silver ribbon.
- Add the glimmer paper word to the right. And add the dragonfly (layered onto the Basic Black) to the left using Dimensionals. Position these at the same time so that your die-cut word shows. AND if you are careful to put the Dimensionals only at the top and bottom of the dragonfly layer, you can still shift the ribbon so it can be repositioned later to make the card look balanced.
- Add the white layer to the inside (add a sentiment if you wish). And now you're done. 🙂
Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend.
