I am heading to Houston, Texas today! Yippee! I love that the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference takes us northern-based demonstrators out of the cold each January. I am VERY ready for weather where I won't require mittens and scarves!
Here's the card that I'll be swapping. (And then when I come back, I'll post a few of the cards I got in return!)
Do you see that great designer paper?! It's from a pack of exclusive designer paper that you can earn for FREE with a $50+ order placed during Sale-A-Bration (which starts January 28th). Yippee! Sale-A-Bration is one of the best times of the Stampin' Up! year. In fact, this year a $300 party will earn the hostess $30 extra dollars in free merchandise. The words in the bubble come from a stamp set that is new and available now – Just Sayin' (see the link below) in the Occasions catalog. And that set has a coordinating set of framelits to match that you can buy separately or in a bundle to save money. The bundles are available with both the wood-mount set and the clear-mount set.
To make this card, I started with a half sheet of Whisper White card stock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2") folded in half to form a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card, attached a 2" x 5" strip of designer paper horizonally across the middle of the card front, then die-cut it with the largest of the NEW Starburst Framelits so that the fold of the card stays inside and doesn't get cut.
Then I added the "decorations"… hearts cut with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, the monster cutie stamped on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch (I love how that size layers within the smaller Starburst Framelit die), and the "Love Ya" embossed with white on Basic Black card stock.
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals and coloring the monster finish it off.
