My stampers came for Stamp Camp last Saturday and made some detailed cards. One of the cards (our technique card) was this Santa one. We painted with pigment ink to whiten Santa's beard and fur on his coat and hat.
If you'd like to duplicate this technique, the first step is to stamp your image with VersaMark ink on a medium shade of card stock. (White or Vanilla card stock will not show off the white pigment ink.) I used Crumb Cake colored card stock and the Santa's List stamp set. Next emboss with a dark coordinating color. I used Early Espresso embossing powder. (see supply list below)
The next step is to mix a couple drops of Whisper White pigment ink with a couple drops of water to make it thinner and apply it with a paintbrush to the areas of your image that you want to whiten up. Shortly after applying the paint, blot your painted areas with a paper towel.
The last optional step is to add a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The 2-Way glue is a nice, light-weight glue for applying glitter. The glue goes on blue but dries clear. Apply the glue, sprinkle on the glitter, tap off the excess, and allow to dry.
Thanks for stopping by to visit today.
