…to Grandmother's (and Grandfather's) house we go!…
We are on our way to my mom and dad's to celebrate Thanksgiving!

My dad says there is enough snow to go sledding, so we have packed our winter gear. I'm excited!

Sledding is THE best! First of all, I stay warm the whole time because I'm all bundled up. In fact, I am almost sweating even in these cold Minnesota temperatures. Second, my boys love it, too. So it's a fun family activity. And I think Nick and Luke get a kick out of their parents playing like kids. Third, the hills are AWESOME up at the cabin – like mini roller coasters!

By the way, I found the photo above on the internet, but it COULD be Grandma and Grandpa's road. It looks just like it! They live in THE MOST beautiful place ever.

They don't have a ton of snow yet, so I'm thinking we won't be building many snowmen. But if Grandpa says there is enough for sledding, then I'm a happy camper.

To get my "snowman fix" right now, I've put together this cute little gift set of Hershey's chocolate nuggets. My stampers will be making these at my upcoming Craft Fair Treasures class in December.

The hats are glove parts from those cheap dollar store gloves. Each candy nugget's hat is made from a finger of the glove. The big snowman's hat is from the main part – the palm of the glove.

Do you recognize this stamp set? It's called Snow Day, and it's no longer available. I know! How cruel of me to show you all (and show my stampers that attend this class) a stamp set you can't purchase from me. Sorry about that. But I HAD to make this project using this stamp set. It's just too adorable. And for the sake of time, stamping these faces will be quicker than drawing them at class. I figure if you want to duplicate this project, you can draw on these simple faces, though.

In fact the mouth on the big snowman is drawn on.

The eyes and nose on the big snowman are made using punches. The eyes are the largest circles in the Owl Builder punch and the carrot nose is from the triangle in the Petite Pennants punch. You can get two carrots by cutting that triangle in half. The candies are Hershey's nuggets wrapped with 1" x 2-5/8" address labels. And the large snowman is a 4 oz coffee cup. I've featured these cups in projects before. They are very affordable if you need a lot of them. I get them from www.webstaurant.com.
