We started moving the furniture, toys and clothes out of the boys rooms last night. (We are preparing to paint and redecorate to give the boys each their own separate rooms.) I'm exhausted from the hauling, needing a break and ready to play around with my stamping things today! After the physical labor of the last 24 hours, I need a little coffee, though.

How about this "little" coffee? hahahaha

I purchased a bunch of these mini "taster" coffee cups from www.webstaurantstore.com and have been playing around with different ways to decorate them. The only challenge when I first got them was coming up with the perfect size strip of paper that would wrap around the cup. Since the cup is narrower at the bottom, one couldn't just use a straight strip of designer paper. It needed to have a curve.

To figure out what size your paper wrap should be, you could either take a cup completely apart and use that flattened piece as a guide OR… you could go to Deb Valder's blog and print off and use her cup wrap template. Thanks, Deb!

I hadn't used my Fitting Occasion stamp set since I got it months ago, so I pulled that off the shelf, grabbed some designer paper that had a random pattern (stripes and very geometrical designs won't work well since the paper will wrap in a curve when attached and distort any definite direction), chose some coordinating colors and some fun punches, and started to create.

I loved the black dots in the patterned paper, so I went with a circular/dotted theme for the design: The Decorative Dots embossing folder, the metal buttons, the circle punches, and the party hat image with dots and circles. I wrapped the designer paper and red "insulator" band around the cup first. Then I stamped the main image, layered that onto a black scallop circle, and attached it to the front of the cup. It needed a banner, so I added a subtle birthday image in coordinating ink off to the right then balanced it out with a large button the lower left and a small button on the upper right. The straw and ribbon help to embellish the top of the cup.

The paper straws are not a Stampin' Up! product, but you can find them in many stores right now since they are very trendy. (I got these red ones from my girlfriend, and I think she said she got them at Target. But there are quite a variety to choose from on Amazon!)

These cups make great little gifts! Fill them with a tea or a coffee bag (or candy!) and give them to co-workers, friends, neighbors, or just random strangers! There are lots of other images in this stamp set, so you could come up with your own design and give these cups to anyone for really ANY occasion.
