I feel so honored…As some of you already know, I was invited to be a creative contributor among a fantastic, talented group of 12 Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the globe. I love creating and am excited for this new adventure.

Each of us will be creating and sharing together so that we can bring to you 12 fabulous, exclusive project ideas each and every month for 6 months…February through July of 2017. The tutorials feature current products for that month and will include both metric and imperial measurements so that everyone and anyone can recreate them. (I even purchased a paper trimmer with metric measurements to make the conversions for both measuring systems easier. I'm such a math geek. LOL) Click here to learn more about how you can get these tutorial bundles.

Today we are having a blog hop so you have a chance to see similar projects to the ones we created for our February bundle. These are not the actual projects in the bundle, but they are similar. I hope you like what we share! Follow along and check out all the other blogs in the hop (click on the names of other blog participants in the list below) so you can see a great collection of hand-stamped cards and paper crafting projects.

I love the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. So I paired it with one of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Butterfly Basics (the set I used for Luke's bokeh scrapbook pages) and used the glitter window technique to create this card.

This is what my table looked like in the creating stages. (I ended up using the "wishes" word image instead of the "birthday" one, because it fit better in the space.)

To make a glitter window, start by placing packaging tape over a "window" area on your project. In this card, the windows are the inside areas of the dragonfly wings. I cut out the dragonfly from the Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I cut it out of some Early Espresso cardstock and replaced the Crumb Cake one for the Early Espresso one.

On the front, sticky side, sprinkle on glitter. You my even want to use your finger or a tool to rub the glitter and make sure it's covering all the exposed packaging tape. Shake off the excess.

A few sections are popped up on my card – the Crumb Cake layer and the banner piece with the words.

The part on the banner piece not touching the Crumb Cake layer has Dimensionals under it. The other part has SNAIL adhesive, so it's not tilting up and looking crooked. By the way, I only used the Triple Banner punch on the vanilla piece. I stamped the words. And then I layered it onto the brown piece and used a scissors/snips to trim it to match.

Measurements:

  • Early Espresso Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for card base, scrap for die-cutting dragonfly and 2-3/4" x 1-1/8"
  • Garden Green Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock: 3-3/8" x 3-3/8" and 1" x 2-5/8" (you may want it a bit longer for punching though)
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4" and 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"

(See below for a list of supplies I used to make this card.)

Here is another card that I made 3  weeks ago while at a demonstrator event. Susan Campfield, my upline provided supplies for this as one of the make-n-takes. And this was my version. Mine has a slightly different layout than the original. It was obviously the inspiration for my card above.

And the card below was a swap that I received from Terri Gaines. She also used the glitter window technique.
