There are so many great, new stamp sets in the 2016-17 Stampin' Up!® catalog including this one that I want to share with you today…Moroccan Nights.
I'm in love with the medallion image! In fact, it's that one image alone that sold me on the set. I HAD to have it! I imagined creating so many things just with THAT stamp: the sun, a flower, fireworks, a fun background, etc.
Below is a fairly simple, yet stunning "congrats" card. If you wish to recreate it, here are the supplies I used. I've also added measurements and tips.
Measurements:
- Cajun Craze Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for the card base
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4" (for the inside) & scrap that is about 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"
- Crushed Curry Cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4"
- Gold Sequin Trim: ~ 6-1/2"
Tips:
- Ink the medallion image with Crushed Curry ink, then roll the edges in Cajun Craze ink before stamping onto the Crushed Curry cardstock. Stamp the surrounding medallion images just with Crushed Curry ink.
- Sponge the edge of the Crushed Curry cardstock with Cajun Craze ink. Then add the Gold Sequin Trim using a couple glue dots here and there to help hold it in place. (Wrap the ends around to the back and secure with adhesive. Attach to the Cajun Craze card base piece.
- Stamp "congrats to you" on Very Vanilla scrap. Then punch it out. Sponge the edges with Crushed Curry ink. Add the small "star" images using Cajun Craze ink that has been stamped off (stamped onto scrap paper to lighten the ink) a couple times. Attach to the card (centered in the medallion) using Dimensionals.
