I got my July Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail yesterday and got so carried away with the fun – assembling the sample project as the kit directions instruct, painting my nails to match (for my videos I'll be recording for YouTube)…

…and seeing what others were sharing in the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club (while I came up with a few ideas of what I would be creating for MY alternate ideas), that all of a sudden it was late evening!

So I apologize that my post today is coming to you a little later in the morning than usual. 🙂

Yesterday morning was my Breakfast Club event. Attendees made 2 simple, quick cards and enjoyed coffee/tea/water, grapes and scones. Here is one of the two cards we made AND a couple other versions of it that could be made using the same supplies. (I'll  share the second one later this week.)

We used the Baby Bear stamp set and the Blooms & Bliss designer paper.

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for the card base
  • Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper: 4" x 4"
  • Whisper White Cardstock: 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"
  • Island Indigo Cardstock: 3-3/8" x 3-3/8"
  • Mint Macaron ribbon: about 16 inches

Tips:

  • Stamp the base image of the bear (the most solid one) with Crumb Cake ink towards the top of the Whisper White cardstock piece to leave room for the sentiment underneath.
  • Stamp the middle image (the "fuzzy" one) with Soft Suede ink on top of the Crumb Cake. Then stamp the top image of the bear (the most clear one) with Early Espresso ink as the last layer being careful to line everything up.
  • Stamp the words underneath with Island Indigo ink. Then attach to the Island Indigo cardstock piece with SNAIL adhesive.
  • Stamp the inside card sentiment with Island Indigo ink.
  • Add the designer paper to the front (left) using SNAIL.
  • Wrap and tie your ribbon. (If you don't like making bows, you can always just tie a knot. Click here to see a video I made awhile ago on ribbon tying. It may give you some good tips.)
  • Finally add your stamped bear layer using Dimensionals.

Peek at the bear's head. I stamped another bear on scrap paper and cut out the head. Then I added this on top of the head of the main bear on my card with a Dimensional to make it look like the bear was leaning out a bit here.

This is a "matchbox fold" card. (I think I will need to share this fold in a video. What do you think?)

It's fun to see the variety you can create with the same exact products. This photo shows us that we don't have to own it ALL to make lots of different cards. 🙂

Here are just a few more photos from the new July 2016 What a Gem Paper Pumpkin kit. The boxes in the kit (4 large and 4 small) are sturdy and a good size. The large one is about 4-3/4" tall and about 3-1/2" wide. The small one is about 3-1/4" tall and about 3-1/2" wide. I think Rolo candies have a copper-like foil They look pretty great with these boxes. What other candies/treats/presents/gifts could we fill them with?
