A couple days ago, I shared with you the first of 4 Halloween treat containers that my class attendees will be making at my upcoming Tricks & Treats class next Thursday. So today I am sharing another one of them that we'll be making.
There are a few more steps and a little more potential mess than that first container. But it's worth the end result. Don't you think? The candy corn idea was inspired by a sample shown on stage at Convention this summer. And I just HAD to run with it. 😉
My measurements:
- Vellum (7/8" x 6 to 6-1/2")
- Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tape – black (5-1/2 to 6")
- Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tape – orange (two 12" pieces)
Directions:
- Sponge the lower third of the bag front with Tangelo Twist ink. Wipe off excess ink. Then sponge on Hello Honey ink above that in the middle third of the bag. Wipe off excess ink. Set aside to dry a bit.
- Stamp "FaBOOlous" onto the middle of the vellum strip with StazOn ink. Set aside to dry.
- With sticky sides facing each other, stick the orange washi tape together to get one long 12" piece. Cut in half to get two handles. Glue dot each end to the inside rim of the bag – one handle's ends will attach to the front rim and one handle's ends will attach to the back rim.
- Add the black washi tape diagonally across the bag front so the ends are reaching the top right and the bottom left of the Hello Honey section. Trim ends.
- Cut a Spider Web doily in half and attach (using glue dots in the middle) one half just under the black washi tape piece.
- Then add the vellum strip by adding glue dots in strategic places…behind the O' in BOO (the eyes) and one on each end where the rhinestones will be. Trim the ends.
- Embellish the bag with rhinestones – 4 on the vellum and 2 on the front handle ends. Ta-da!
I love how the sketched dots in the bag appear to resist the yellow and orange ink. I'm in love with these bags.
Visit again on Monday when I'll share a third treat container!
