I'm so sorry I haven't posted in some time. Everything is fine here, it's just been extremely busy. I had my week & weekend of stamping classes/events/meetings, two big family events (a day at the fair and a big birthday party – one year for Yvette!),…
(Happy 1st birthday, Yvette!)
…and I had to design and put together swap cards for 4 swaps. The kiddos are still on summer break, too. They don't go back in school until the day after Labor Day.
But… everyone is healthy and doing well. Knock on wood!
I thought I would share a quick post of the cards we made at last night's class…
Do you recognize these? They are cards you can make with the Tin of Cards kit, stamp set and coordinating ink pads. And they are the featured cards on the front of the annual catalog.
But we didn't stop there. We also made alternate cards using the supplies in the kit in a different way than suggested in the directions. These are the alternate cards I had up on my board for them to make. Many wanted to make all 16 that I had up on my display board, some stuck to the kit a bit more and made just a select few of my alternate ideas, and then there were a few who were "stung by the creativity bug" and came up with their own unique ideas. It was fun to watch everyone play with their kits.
Here are the other 12 cards I had on my board. I have to admit that a few ideas I got from a talented fellow demonstrator, Mikaela Titheridge (I found them on Pinterest). So not all of them are my ideas. But I wanted to share nonetheless.
This was one of my favorite designs. I was pretty excited when I came up with putting the glimmer hearts behind the die-cut butterflies.
A design from Mikaela Titheridge. Attach the clear epoxy stars to some paper from the kit and trim to get the shiny, colored embellishments.
A design from Mikaela Titheridge. The black thread is from the black and white twine. Just unravel.

The white strip of card stock on the polka-dot window sheet is just the back side of some extra paper from the kit.
A design from from Mikaela Titheridge. Sometimes just changing the direction of your card and adding a gold strip gives it a whole new look.
The loopy outline heart in this card design comes from the card below. And the white, solid heart is from the inside of the loopy heart.
A design from Mikaela Titheridge. It's hard to see in this photo, but the darker banner is the gold foil paper.
Did you notice many of the cards have loops of twine or thread sticking out? It's a pretty trending look in the paper crafting industry right now. To get that look, you can first put your adhesive on the back around the edges. Then manually loop the twine/thread where you want it to go. Put your Dimensionals on the back to secure the twine/thread, and then add your layer to the front of your card.
BTW…This kit also comes with mini tabbed file cards that you get to stamp and embellish so you can keep your cards filed in your tin. One tip I forgot to share in class though (sorry gals!) is…stamp the tabs first. If you make a mistake, you can flip the card over and try again on the other side. Attach the designer paper after stamping.
