Valentine's Day is around the corner, so the "heart cards" are on my brain right now. This is the card I created for a card swap I participated in this past weekend. I loved this card design so much, I decided to include it in my Hearts & Valentines Stamp-A-Stack event (today is the last day to RSVP).

The Hardwood stamp is probably my most favorite stamp in the new Occasions Catalog. (Click here to download the PDF of this catalog. Click here to view the products from this catalog online.)

The Circle Card Thinlits Die makes awesome fun-fold cards. If you have the Big Shot, but you don't own this set of framelits, then maybe this card will pursuade you to add them to your collection.

Without further ado, here's the card I made.

I took a 1/2 sheet of Soft Suede card stock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2") and die-cut it with the Circle Card Thinlit Die leaving the excess card stock out the top of the die as shown.

After that I stamped the Hardwood stamp image on the left half where the circle was cut, on the other side of the card (the back of the flap that opens up to reveal the inside message), and…

…on a scrap piece of Soft Suede that I punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle punch. Then the heart that I cut from the middle of that circle (using one of the accessory framelits that comes in the Circle Card Thinlits set) I added to the inside of the card.

After adhering a scrap of Cherry Cobbler card stock in the middle of the die-cut circle part of the card, I attached the stamped circle using Dimensionals for a little 3-D effect.

Oh! And before attaching the circle, I sponged the outside and inside edges with the Soft Suede ink (the same ink that I used for the Hardwood stamp images).

Sorry for the poor lighting in the photos. It's been a bit cloudy around here.

Speaking of weather… school was cancelled again! It's a super cold and windy day again here in Minnesota with windchills as low as -35 degrees F.

Hope it's warmer where you are.
