I think I'm starting to feel the winter dull drums today. Snow is pretty, but I'm ready to feel the heat, open the windows and get the sprinklers going again. I'm missing summer right now, so I'm posting a set of pages that I completed last weekend during my retreat because it's cheering me up to look at them – the bright colors, outdoor scenes and our attire. Yep! I'm done with winter.

This set of pages is a set I made a couple years back for my scrapbooking club, so forgive the retired stamp sets shown. Good substitutes would be Fruit & Flowers (in place of the citrus solid images) and Happy Hour (in place of the drink images). We also don't carry the flower punch shown anymore, but I know scrapbookers are all about the layouts anyways. So hopefully these pages will inspire a few of you.

Here are the pages BEFORE I rearranged a couple elements on them and added my photos.

The glass is made with vellum! I took a retangular piece of vellum, brayered it with Daffodil Delight ink, scored it diagonally close to each side edge, folded those side edges back, adhered them to a piece of Whisper White so that the vellum curved outward a bit, then trimmed the extra exposed white to create a filled glass. Next I added a straw (secured it with a couple glue dots) and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the rim using the 2-Way Glue.

I also added glitter to the rim of the stamped drink images! Details, right?! Gotta have those details.

Can you tell I am also in love with Dimensionals? One of them under each of the drink image circles gives the pages that extra "pop." And sponging cardstock with it's coordinating ink color adds "pop" to a project as well. Sponges and Dimensionals – two tools you CANNOT be without.

I made one photograph really stand out from the rest by matting it in Whisper White. Matting this photo also helped to create balance – the white under the main photo on the left page balances with the white in the citrus slice accents on the right page. You may also notice that my journaling blends into the page well. I printed my journaling on matching card stock so that it would give the appearance of it being printed directly onto the page.

Thanks for stopping by again today.
