Stampin' Up! added more choices to the Sale-A-Bration offerings on Tuesday. The Succulent Garden Designer Paper that I used on this card is one of them. How exciting is that?! I LOVE that paper. In fact my April Card Class and my project going into the April Tutorial Bundle will both be featuring it. Click here to learn more about Sale-a-Bration – a fantastic promotion that only runs through the end of March. (FYI though…of the 7 new offerings, the embossing folders are already off the list as the amount that they had set aside for free SAB picks have already been depleted. You CAN buy them though using their regular order numbers.)
I had an extra egg from when I cranked out all those cards I shared on March 20th. So I put together a twisted (diagonal) easel card using a 4" x 4" piece of Succulent Garden Designer Paper and the Hey Chick stamp set (another free choice right now during Sale-A-Bration).
I love how these twisted (diagonal) easel cards prop up into a 3-D display but lie flat for mailing in an envelope. They are so fun. Have you made one?
Here is the card fully open. Notice that on the inside is a banner that lifts up a bit.
On easel cards it's important to have a lifted area on the inside that props up the front of the card to hold it open. Anything on Dimensionals works great.
I'll have to make a how-to video on this type of card in the near future, but this weekend I am at Cub Scout camp with my boys. And I wanted to share the news again about the additional Sale-A-Bration choices like the great Succulent Garden Designer Paper. So I decided to share this card even though I'm not giving you all my usual step-by-step details. Hope you're okay with that.
I'm hoping these photos below will help give you a basic idea of how to recreate this type of card. The easel base piece (the Whisper White cardstock) is 4" x 8" scored down the middle at 4" and then again diagonally as shown.
Then it's folded as shown in this photo below. After you get the folded base piece flattened down, line up and attach the 4" x 4" floral designer paper adhering just to the top triangle layer of the Whisper White cardstock folded base. After doing these steps, the rest of the card will make sense. And if you want to make that egg embellishment on the front, click here to see for those directions.
These last two photos share why I was hesitant about using this egg embellishment in the load of cards I made and shared on March 20th…
My glue had bubbled up a bit. He's my Humpty Dumpty egg. 😉
Back to camping! Hugs to you all.
Product List
Take note that the Retiring Products List will post April 10th. And when it does certain products tend to sell out quickly (sometimes even BEFORE the list posts) like the outgoing 2015-17 In Color re-inkers and cardstock packs: Mint Macaron, Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe and Delightful Dijon. So take inventory now and start making those needed purchases earlier than later.
