Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors. Unfortunately it's an "In Color" color, so it will only be around for a limited time. FORTUNATELY I can still enjoy it for another catalog year!
Today's stamped art is a simple card – black and white with a touch of heavenly Coastal Cabana.
This card is made from an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of white card stock that's been folded in half. The black and white designer paper is 1-1/4" x 5-1/2". And the twine is approximately 32" long.
I stamped the lady image onto the front of my card after I had already adhered the black and white designer paper. This way I was sure to center the image in the white space that remained. Next I stamped just a portion of this image (the dress area) onto the Coastal Cabana designer paper (just a small amount is all you'll need).
Then I used the Paper Piecing technique to add the patterned dresses. Click here to get a brief explanation of this technique. I also used the Coastal Cabana marker to color some areas of the outfits. (Use designer paper with a tiny pattern for best results with this technique.) This Coastal Cabana designer paper comes from the Maritime pack.
This stamp set will be an excellent one to use with the Blendabilities markers when they start to become available next week.
