Yesterday I visited my friend Stephanie who has been in the hospital recovering from kidney failure. She's a stamper who hasn't been able to attend events for a couple months because of her health. So instead of flowers, I brought her a kit of stamping goodies! After all, flowers are pretty but not that entertaining. And you can only take TV shows and crossword puzzles for so long. Right?
We had fun playing! I gave her the All Shook Up Paper Pumpkin kit. 😉 And we went through the process of making one full card together.
She decided she wanted to give a couple of the cards to those that had been taking good care of her. So we were careful not to let the medical staff see the end results. This was her first card.
Thankfully Stephanie is doing MUCH better than she was a week and a half ago – kidneys are fully functioning again and they are just trying to get her body back in balance. So that is wonderful news!
She transferred to a new facility last night to begin the process of rehabilitation. I'm sure that the cards she made and gave away before leaving Mercy Hospital touched a few hearts. I know that creating them touched HER heart.
And , You touched her heart. This is exactly what life is about. Taking the time to do for others! Sweet! I hope she continues to feel healthy, and enjoys making many more cards!
What a fabulous idea! She had to love doing something that she enjoys so much.
Sending her well wishes for a full and speedy recovery!
Thank you, Eileen. 🙂
I’ll pass along your well wishes.
I’ll let her know you send her your well wishes. Thanks so much, Donna!
Rachel- You are an awesome friend! I know if it were me, nothing would cheer me up more! (and I’m allergic to flowers:) I’ve been watching and very much look forward to your Paper Pumpkin videos. Your projects are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity:)
And I don’t think too many people are allergic to stamps. 😉
Thank you for your kind note, Julie.
